Incompetence II: Return of the Minor Mayor

Minor Mayor

If you’ve been a regular reader of Patriot Retort, you’re probably aware of my former Mayor Stephanie Miner.

Or, as I call her, The Minor Mayor.

After eight years of pulverizing our economy, overseeing an increase in poverty, and turning Syracuse into a Sanctuary City, the Minor Mayor mercifully left us in January.

But these creatures never really leave, do they?

The other day, the Minor Mayor announced that she will be running for Governor of New York as an Independent.

I gotta admit, when I read the news yesterday morning, I nearly laughed myself silly.

“Let’s build a better NY?”

Stephanie, honey. I lived in the city you mismanaged for the entire eight miserable years you were Mayor.

Don’t hand me a shit sandwich and ask me to take a bite.

According to Steph’s official campaign Twitter page, she is a “Snowboard and Infrastructure enthusiast.”

And I find that hilarious.

Because you could snowboard down the depths of the potholes she left behind on our streets.

Do you know how many times water mains break in the city of Syracuse?

Honey, if I had a dollar for every time that happened between 2010 and 2018, I wouldn’t have to run my Summer Fundraiser.

Infrastructure enthusiast.

That’s rich.

Of course, when her final term ended in January, Stephanie made a lot of noise about how she wasn’t going to launch a primary challenge against Cuomo.

But I was suspicious.

Hey, eight years watching this political opportunist makes me an expert on her.

And the reason I doubted that she was eighty-sixing a possible gubernatorial run was because her first job after leaving office was a teaching position at NYU.

Come on, Steph. We weren’t born yesterday.

After eight years as the big fish in a little pond (our potholes make bigger ponds), Stephanie needed to show her face downstate.

It was so transparent.

And if the New York State Republican Party weren’t a bunch of wankers, this could be a golden opportunity.

Let’s face it. The former Minor Mayor isn’t going to peel votes away from a Republican in November.

She’s a Leftist Progressive in good standing.

So her Independent run will only siphon votes from Andrew “Thumb on the Scales” Cuomo.

And if the NYS GOP could get its head of out its own ass, it could make the most of that opportunity.

It’s’s Summer Fundraiser!

I was going to write you when I saw this the other day, but I figured you’d already know about the misdoings of your favorite proggy politician. Of course I will vote for a fountain pen over Prince Andrew, but I as a down-stater I haven’t even heard of the GOP candidates running against him. Hopefully one of them will be great, but considering the unfortunate reality that the 5 boroughs, Long Island and Westchester are the lion’s share of the voters, it doesn’t bode well. If only Billy Joel’s lyrics could come true..blow the Bronx away and sink Manhattan out at sea and the People’s Republic of NY would be Alabama!

I knew when I spotted this in the local news that you would be commenting on it Dianny. The coming campaign should be fun to watch, and perhaps, toss a few eggs upon.,

Andrew Cuomo, governor of Manhattan versus The usurper in Minor key……
