Is Flake causing the delays?
Yesterday morning at ten a.m. was the deadline for Kavanaugh’s accuser to either agree or decline to testify on Monday.
Well, that deadline passed and a new deadline of ten p.m. Friday was given.
And that deadline passed and a new deadline was given.
What’s with all the delays?
And what’s the point of making a deadline if you don’t intend to stick to it?
Sounds less like a deadline and more like an Obama-style red line.
Naturally, conservatives who want Kavanaugh confirmed are accusing Senator Grassley of going wobbly.
Yeah. It kinda looks that way, doesn’t it?
But anybody else wonder if the delays aren’t being caused by a wobbly Senator Grassley but instead by an asshole named Jeff Flake?
He’s the one Republican who could scuttle Kavanaugh’s confirmation being moved out of the Judiciary committee.
Who knows? Maybe he’s the one demanding the delays in order to accommodate this one woman in California who seems to believe that the Advice and Consent clause belongs not to the Senate but to her alone.
I started wondering in the wee hours of the morning if Flake could be the wrench tossed into the process.
And then about an hour ago, I saw this tweet from John Cardillo:

Boy, that lends credence to my theory, doesn’t it?
As an aside, when the heck has Jeff Flake ever been a conservative champion? Was I asleep in that five minutes?
No offense to Matt Schlapp, but it would have been more fitting to say “He’s gone from NeverTrump scold to roadblock.”
Which, let’s be honest is kind of a lateral move.
Any old how.
If Grassley can’t be assured that he has every Republican vote, Kavanaugh won’t make it out of committee.
And it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if the one delaying things and demanding the deadline move is Jeff Flake.
Now, I don’t know it for a fact.
This is just conjecture on my part.
We don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes.
But tell me. Is it that difficult to picture Jeff Flake making demands of the other ten Republican committee members behind closed doors?
Not really.
He could be playing coy — dragging his feet to make Republicans (and specifically President Trump) sweat.
Or he could be flat-out making certain demands in exchange for his Yes vote.
Granted, I don’t trust Jeff Flake and I never have – not since the stupid Gang of Eight amnesty push.
He prides himself in being the fly in the ointment especially now that Donald J. Trump is President.
On top of that, Flake is a lame duck Senator with absolutely nothing to lose.
So I can’t help but wonder if Grassley is being forced into these delays because he still doesn’t have all eleven Republican votes on the committee. And if I were a bettin’ gal, I’d say the hold-out is the man who puts his personal hatred for the President over everything else.
Again, it’s just a theory. But I have a sinking feeling it’s close to being accurate.

I think that they are exposing the Ford lady for the fraud she is by delaying the vote and then boom, they’ll go through with the vote.
Flake is a retard, he’s so useless they don’t need him for the vote anyway.
They moved it back, to my knowledge, 2 pm today, so we’ll see what happens. Regardless, they will continue to confirm Kavanaugh.
Yes they absolutely do need his vote. There are 11 Republicans and 10 Democrats. If Flake doesn’t vote YES, Kavanaugh won’t make it out of committee. You understand that, right?
They need Flake’s vote to get it out of the committee with approval. However, it’s my understanding that committee approval, though desired, is not required. That is, McTurtle could bypass the committee and go straight to the full Senate. If it looks like Flake is going to sh*t in the punch bowl, it would be best if Kavanaugh went to the full Senate without a committee vote because a candidate rejected by the committee doesn’t stand a chance in the full Senate.
The full Senate is a tough call because of 4 wobbly GoP’s: Flake, Corker, Collins, Snow, and perhaps even a fifth, Murkowski. But on the other hand there are some vulnerable Democrats, like McCaskill. In this scenario, if these 5 rejected Kavanaugh (either to stick it to DJT or to keep their precious Roe), Kavanaugh would need 4 Democrats. Some vulnerable ones are McCaskill (MO), Heitkamp (ND), Donnelly (IN), and Nelson (FL), plus maybe a couple others.
Aside from Flake being petty, there are two reasons the Democrats are delaying this. One is so Kavanaugh wouldn’t be seated in the next term of the Court (although I don’t know why Roberts couldn’t simply postpone that until this decision is made). The other is so these vulnerable Democrat senators don’t have to vote on Kavanaugh before the election. And of course Schumer benefits enormously from the power play with nothing to lose.
Jeff-John Flake-McCain
Flake should have been removed from all committees when he announced he wasn’t running, he wouldn’t be able to be petty and a dem stooge.
Grassley should also tell Ford that self identified sexual pervert won’t be at the meeting in deference to her being a supposed “Sexual Assault Survivor”. Then let the Dems try to explain how it’s OK for him but not others.
Invite Ellison’s accuser to testify, how she’s been threatened and ignored. Bonus points for being a POC ad not credible while Ford who is white must believe.
There are three things that really chap my azz. Wet toilet paper, hemorrhoids, and lying Liberals. This guy fits at least two of these categories. You choose which ones.
Sometimes Grassley has (granite like) resolve, other times… meh. Besides being a consummate politician, I do think he (mostly) tries to represent his voters as they request. But to do anything but refer this lady to her local PD, is a complete destruction to the rule of law. Who gets to accuse after 35 years, in the most improper forum, at the most improper time. Where is that codified in law? Have Judge Kavavaugh’s rights as a citizen, and his right to DUE PROCESS been rescinded? Complete horseapples , imo. And Mr. Grassley will be getting a call, (from one of his constituents) regarding Ms. Ford’s ability to break the chain of command, (with or without actual evidence). Finally, am I having a bad day, or does Mr. Flake’s nose look somewhat out of place? Possibly because of a recent “Harry Reid” like gym accident, or Dianny magic? lol

According to drudge there is a new accuser which pretty much sinks this nomination. I said over a week ago that another dem activist would come crawling out of the wood work. Why wouldn’t they? Here are the reasons they would 1. Libs are immoral so they have no issue lying or destroying kava; 2. Libs are mentally ill. The way they will rationalize this is that they are resisting or committing civil disobedience. They literally think they are comparable to Gandhi or mlk for taking down kava. The methods don’t matter bc to them it’s civil disobedience.; 3. They will be rewarded. Million dollar book deals and wined and dined by Hollywood. They will be celebrated and not punished for lying, which again goes full circle back to number 1 that libs are immoral.
