I haven’t taken a Lupus Day for quite some time thanks to my strength-training regimen. Most of the time I had a Lupus Day it was because my joints were inflamed so bad I could barely move. But with strength training building the muscles around my joints, that hasn’t been an issue in a long, long time. Hell, I even shoveled snow this weekend without any adverse effects to my joints!
And if Lupus only attacked my joints, I’d be golden.
But it doesn’t.
And right now it is causing skull-crushing worse-than-a-migraine-level headaches. They’ve been hammering me since Sunday and yesterday it was so bad, I went to bed before eight o’clock.
I tried to soldier on over the last couple of days and post something, but today the headaches are effecting my concentration — which I suspect is because I’m completely worn out from these weapons-grade headaches.
I did try to work today. I’ve been here at my desk for over four hours struggling to get something written. And I failed. So that’s it. I’m calling a Lupus Day and packing it in to go sit in an unlit room.
There is a silver lining. As with every horrid Lupus symptom, these headaches will pass eventually. My hope is they will pass faster if I stop staring at a damn computer screen.
