It’s not about Tucker; it’s about taking out Fox News
Yesterday, the smear merchants at Media Matters released audio of Tucker Carlson on a shock jock radio program over a decade ago. And within minutes, the eager Leftists on Social Media (and on cable news) joined in demanding Tucker Carlson be removed from Fox News.
Sure, they pretended to be scandalized and horrified. But the truth is, they are all simply delighted.
For his part, Tucker released a statement pretty much telling them to pound sand.
Good for him.
Now, this is what Media Matters does. They are a well-funded smear organization hell-bent on silencing anyone in the media who does not fall into ideological lock-step with the Left.
But this is just a single piece of the puzzle of what went on this past week.
And it isn’t about taking Tucker Carlson down.
It’s about taking out Fox News completely.
First, Jane Mayer – a reporter with a history of thinly sourced stories – penned an article at the New Yorker claiming Fox News shit-canned the Stormy Daniels story in the fall of 2016 in order to protect candidate Donald Trump.
In response, the Fox News editor who didn’t let the story air wrote a lengthy explanation of why the story did not run that pretty much disputes everything Mayer claimed in her piece.
But the damage was done.
In response to this story from Mayer, the DNC announced it would not allow Fox News to host any Democrat primary debates for 2020.
And how did “objective reporter” Jane Mayer respond when she heard the news?

“Boom!” You get it?
Her article wasn’t news.
It was advocacy.
And it was all part of a coordinated effort to take out Fox News.
Then of course, we have the least self-aware man in the world: Jeff Zucker.
Zucker appeared at the progressive SXSW conference in Austin this weekend where he told the audience that Fox News has done “tremendous damage to the country.” He accused Fox of being “state-run” propaganda.
Pot, meet kettle.
Remember, Fox News signed on to a lawsuit to get CNN’s Jim Acosta’s hard pass reinstated. But Jeff Zucker happily stands by the DNC refusing to permit Fox to participate in Democrat debates.
The fact this is all happening in the span of one week isn’t by accident; it’s by design.
Sure, Fox News is beating the snot out of CNN and generally tops MSNBC in overall ratings. But this isn’t about taking out the industry leader to boost ratings.
After all, if CNN wanted to improve its own ratings, it could have long ago jettisoned it’s “get Trump at all costs” business model and become an objective, balanced news organization. But they haven’t; because destroying Trump matters more to these people than ratings.
This is completely politically motivated.
MSNBC and CNN desperately want a Democrat to win the White House in 2020. And they have it in their heads that the only reason President Trump got elected in 2016 was because of Fox News. So now they want to take out Fox in order to ensure that cable news is 100% behind the DNC.
They will happily peddle the shoddy, politically-motivated reporting of Jane Mayer. And they have zero qualms about promoting the smear merchants at Media Matters.
It’s pure Alinsky. Pick a target, freeze it, personalize it and polarize it.
Fox News is their target.
They want cable news to serve as the DNC’s opposition research arm during 2020. Just as they did during the 2016 campaign.
But Fox News is an impediment. So it has to be taken out by any means necessary – either one anchor at a time, or in one fell swoop.
On a side note: If you haven’t read Sharyl Attkisson’s tremendous book The Smear: How Shady Political Operatives and Fake News Control What You See, What You Think, and How You Vote, you really should. Reading it will help you see through these schemes that will no doubt ramp up the closer we get to 2020.
Sharyl’s book breaks down the whole Media Matters/David Brock smear machine in eye-opening detail. I cannot recommend this book enough.
Finally, it certainly didn’t escape my notice that Media Matters launched its latest smear of Tucker Carlson just days after Tucker aired this segment:
The fact is, the Left isn’t nearly as sneaky and deceptive as it thinks it is. We know what they’re doing. And we know why.

DNC needs to be Neutered. Start with all of the Tri Sexuals, Then finish with the Nazi Socialists.
The problem is, the Fox News people won’t give the Democrap candidate the questions beforehand.
Tucker’s opening tonight was terrific, and Bongino told Tucker to NEVER TAKE THE KNEE. Excellent!!!
And I stand w/Judge Jeanine. She’s getting railroaded by Fox.
I am ashamed of Fox for not backing Judge Jeanine. She was absolutely right in her comments Saturday night. I just sent her a “I back you” e-mail.
Boycott all the coward sponsors who drop Tucker and Judge Jeanine! Spread the word.
