Joy Reid punches her own network in the ‘nads

There’s a reason Joy Reid was one of my 10 Most Tiresome People of 2017.

She’s a hateful, wretched crone with a misplaced sense of superiority.

Condescension drips off Joy Reid like flop sweat.

Tuesday night, in an effort to slam both Donald Trump and Fox News Reid punched her own network right in the gonads.

And because she suffers from that crippling combo of Arrogance and Ignorance, Joy didn’t even realize it.

Joy Reid

See, Joy was mocking President Trump highlighting the deadly and violent Central American gang MS-13. Because, from within her bubble, nobody cares about MS-13 and they’re nowhere near as dangerous as Russia.

Said Joy Reid (hat tip Breitbart):

“And then he gives a speech tonight, in which he makes it sound like the biggest issue in the United States, the biggest threat is MS-13, a gang nobody that doesn’t watch Fox News has ever heard of, so he makes it sound like they’re the biggest threat.”

Nobody that doesn’t watch Fox News has ever heard of MS-13?

This is textbook Joy Reid.

She makes a claim that she passes off as fact that can be disproved with the simplest Internet search.

First of all, I know it’s a specious claim even without doing a search.

I haven’t had cable since 2012, so I haven’t watched Fox News in six years.

But I have heard of MS-13.

In fact, in the fourth season of “Major Crimes,” they had an episode in which MS-13 figured prominently. So anybody who watches “Major Crimes,” but doesn’t watch Fox would have heard of MS-13. (Actually, I wrote a column about that episode back in 2015)

But let’s set her specious claim aside for a moment and address my central point.

What Joy Reid is inadvertently admitting here is pretty outrageous.

And she doesn’t even realize it.

Joy is, by her own admission, letting slip that her network – MSNBC – doesn’t even bother reporting on the single deadliest street gang operating within the US.

And, surprisingly enough, that is one of the first times Joy Reid has ever uttered anything remotely true.

I ran a search of MSNBC’s website for “MS-13.” Except for two reports of the gang in connection to President Trump’s immigration crackdown, there was only one time MS-13 is mentioned.

In a January 2012 post by Alex Wagner about the New Hampshire Republican Primary, Wagner writes that Newt Gingrich would “keep talking about the MS-13 gangs of El Salvador until they are stopped.”

That’s it. That’s the only mention of MS-13 at MSNBC.

Which, when you consider reality, is pretty damn pathetic.

In January 2008, the FBI’s own National Threat Assessment on MS-13 makes it clear just what a threat this gang is.

Based on information from our own investigations, from our state and local law enforcement partners, and from community organizations, we’ve concluded that while the threat posed by MS-13 to the U.S. as a whole is at the “medium” level, membership in parts of the country is so concentrated that we’ve labeled the threat level there “high.”

And that was in 2008 – six years before Barack Obama permitted an unfettered flood of illegal alien “unaccompanied minors” to pour into the country.

In June, William Sweeney of the FBI told the House Homeland Security Committee that MS-13 is “not the largest street gang in the United States; it is increasingly the most violent and well-organized.” (Hat tip Breitbart — not Fox News, Joy, but Breitbart.)

But for some reason, Joy seems to take pride in the fact that MSNBC can’t be bothered to report on them.

Seriously, is Joy Reid mentally stunted?

But wait! There’s more!

From Breitbart’s piece:

Sweeney reported that the FBI’s Long Island Gang Task Force (LIGTF) has arrested over 200 MS-13 gang members since 2010. Over 35 of these gang members were involved in homicides. A majority of those MS-13 members have been convicted on federal racketeering charges for participating in murders, attempted murders, and assaults. Moreover, MS-13 is believed to be responsible for more than 20 homicides in Suffolk and Nassau Counties just since 2016; he told members of Congress on the committee.

Hey Joy. How many people have been murdered by Russians?

But as I said, Joy’s ridiculous claim that Fox News is the only outlet reporting on MS-13 is immensely easy to disprove.

Just do a Duck-Duck-Go search on “MS-13″+”Crime.”

I found stories from the Houston Chronicle, the LA Times, the New York Post and CBS News — just to name a few.

So what does that say about your network, Joy? All these other news outlets report on this deadly and violent gang. But MSNBC won’t.

And why in Lucifer’s reach would you be bragging about that?

Anyone who reads the newspapers in Northern Virginia or watches the local news in that area knows who MS-13 is. They are about as brutal as it gets, and have no regard for life. They just take what they want, when they want it.

Los Angeles is their home base. The west coast certainly has heard of them.
