Mass Shooting Porn

Mass Shooting Porn

There’s a reason I don’t trip all over myself to write about horrific mass murderers the instant they commit their crimes. Several reasons, really.  First, I’m not a ghoul.  And second, I refuse to participate in this sociopathic national pastime of rushing to find a way to smear my political opponents for the actions of one deranged person. It’s nothing but Mass Shooting Porn and it’s perverse.

This weekend, this vile pornography kicked into high gear once again.

In an effort to decry violence, these Mass Shooting Porn addicts couldn’t resist calling for violence against the President, his Administration, Republican lawmakers and their fellow citizens.

And a lot of that vile behavior came not from anonymous Twitter trolls but from elected officials, blue checkmark “journalists” and Hollywood celebrities.

The only people who weren’t targeted with these expressions of anger and hatred were the two shooters who actually committed the crimes.

Grief is displaced by glee. Horror displaced by voyeuristic eagerness and a desire to perpetrate violent rhetoric and hate.

As Jesse Kelly pointed out Sunday, “Some people’s grieving looks eerily similar to cheering.”

That’s the thing about Mass Shooting Porn. People get off on it.  It gives them a rush of endorphins.  It’s why they seeks out people on Twitter whom they do not follow for no other reason than to attack and vilify them for the actions of a deranged killer.

You should see some of the garbage that gets tweeted at Dana Loesch.  Those addicted to Mass Shooting Porn descend on her like junkies on a bag of heroin. They accuse her of being responsible for the actions of a murderer. They wish her death.  They wish death on her children.

The eagerness and fervor with which they attack is perverse.

And yet they do it every single time.

Well, not every single time.  When the murderer shares their political beliefs, they pretend his horrific crime never happened.

And in the incidents where they discover that the perpetrator of mass murder is more aligned with them — like the mass murderer in Dayton this weekend — they simply memory-hole it immediately.

Just as they did with James Hodgkinson after he gunned down Republicans on a baseball field.

This is the problem when you use the actions of a deranged killer to score political points.

Your outrage is selective and you only practice that outrage if the murderer advances your political narrative.

It really is obscene.

But those addicted to Mass Shooting Porn can’t help themselves.

The lives lost, the grief of the families – none of that matters to these ghouls.  All that matters is their own need to get off on it.

But they’re not alone.

The media happily exploits it for ratings, retweets and advancing a political narrative.

Politicians hop aboard the Mass Shooting Porn to goose their standing in the polls like the shameless opportunists and sociopaths that they are.

They decry “division” while sewing division.

They claim President Trump is guilty of “incitement” while inciting violence against President Trump.

And they hold the President responsible for the actions of a murderer while absolving themselves of any responsibility if a deranged lunatic uses their own rhetoric to justify a murderous act.

Violence and division works for these people.  They celebrate it, make light of it, and foment it.

This is why they treat mass murder like porn.  It feeds their need for hate and anger.

And when we have in our society people who revel in mass murder is it any surprise we have more mass murderers?

It isn’t a gun problem.

It’s an absence of conscience.

When you celebrate violence, laugh at those who are physically assaulted, and believe the best response to mass murder is to call for others to be killed, you have no conscience, no filter, no commitment to right over wrong.

Social media platforms like Twitter strip you of personal responsibility.  You feel free to say anything no matter how vile or deranged.  You are emboldened to cheer on violence or even call for the death of others with impunity.

Those who jump on this wretched pornography don’t give a damn about guns or gun control.  And they sure as hell don’t care about the victims or the families left behind.

Instead, they revel in this porn because it gives them license to promote more division, hate and violence.  They see it as a justification to indulge their own venomous hatred.

Politicians use it as a way to gain power and control.  Or in the case of reckless fools like Beto O’Rourke, a shameful opportunity to rise in the polls or garner campaign contributions.

And those who promote Mass Shooting Porn only embolden others who wish to commit mass murder.

A study of every mass shooting since 1966 reveals one disturbing, but hardly surprising fact:

[M]ost of the shooters had studied the actions of other shooters and sought validation for their motives. People in crisis have always existed. But in the age of 24-hour rolling news and social media, there are scripts to follow that promise notoriety in death. Societal fear and fascination with mass shootings partly drives the motivation to commit them. Hence, as we have seen in the last week, mass shootings tend to come in clusters. They are socially contagious. Perpetrators study other perpetrators and model their acts after previous shootings. Many are radicalized online in their search for validation from others that their will to murder is justified. [Emphasis Dianny’s]

This is what reveling in Mass Shooting Porn spawns.

And yet the usual suspects eagerly get off on it every single time.

They don’t care that they’re emboldening the next troubled soul who decides to act on his murderous impulses.

Like the nihilistic sociopath who commits the murders, these people who revel in this porn care only for their own gratification.  They happily perpetrate the cycle for the endorphin-rush that this despicable pornography gives them.

Why would we feed that beast?

I, a white man, oops, person, have been on this earth for decades, As a youth growing up in the great state of Texas I was a country person. Nope a country boy! The wide open spaces. Never saw or witnessed racism until High School. Then again in the military in the 70’s. Funny thing it wasn’t the white’s spewing hate, it was the blacks that targeted me. Things got better until the Half-Black/Half White POTUS (the Gray President) entered the scene. Been downhill ever since. Dianny is right “a deranged person” is at fault and no other person, place or thing. There are many issues that lead to mass shootings but I don’t believe gun control would stop them. Thank you Dianny for the insight.

Those on the left who use the shootings as a political cudgel are the equivalent of pimps. The use events to gain for themselves whatever political objective they have.

The underlying current in all of these later day massacres is that the electronic media whether it is social networking or violent gaming or violent entertainment all feed this beast. By drowning our youth in this constant barrage of violence we numb their sensibilities towards the idea of injuring another.

You reap what you sow. If we continue to glorify first person shooter games and the violence emanating from Hollywood along with the weeks long 24/7 news reporting on each and every incident that plays into the left’s playbook we will not see this trend decrease. If you raise a generation that views violence as a part of their daily passage in life, even if it is pretend, you will end up with a callous society that holds less respect for a life than it does the people who do value life and freedom.

Once you use political opportunism to gleefully bathe in the blood of innocents, how do you ever wash it off?

Ladies and gentlemen what we are watching is the coming of age of the medicated generation. All those young brains marinated in chemicals (some while even in utero) are growing into their homicidal and suicidal urges. None of the rest helps, but now we have who knows how many millions MORE susceptible because of said chemicals. I suggest buckling up because they are just starting I fear.

I was listening to the radio and heard that a guy, whose mom works at a Florida walmart, called the store and said he was coming in to shoot up the place and that he was on his way, be there by 5pm. He never showed up, but they got a hold of his info and arrested him. He did it because ‘copy cat’.
I bet his mom doesn’t have a job at walmart anymore.
    Idiots.

Have you ever actually seen any of those over the top, violent “kill games?”
There is really no skill involved, it’s just endless, mind-numbing bloodshed, moving into the next war zone, blowing up faces and whole heads. Splattered brain matter and blood all over the walls after the fresh kill.
All for the sport of gaming.
An impressionable kid would absolutely become desensitized to any outward feelings.
And Hollywood elites bitching and moaning about guns every day, but do you ever see them reduce the appearance of weapons in their movies? No, they come up with even BIGGER killing machines.

“In this country, we have a… hate epidemic.” — Rep. Escobar

Regardless of the source’s possible attempt at smearing POTUS, the plain meaning of these words rings through. One can often understand the direction from which hate comes. And the irony of Rep. Escobar’s quote is that a lot of hate recently has been coming from the left.

It’s worth repeating. We have a hate epidemic in this country. And undeniably, a lot of hate recently has been coming from the left
