MeToo: The worst thing to happen to victims of sexual assault ever

Do you remember a few months ago when Ashley Judd posted a frantic video to Facebook because a man called her “sweetheart?”

In a day and age when calling someone “sweetheart” prompts an unstable woman to film herself decrying “everyday sexism,” we’ve completely lost all perspective.

Ashley is one of the faces of the MeToo movement celebrated as Time Magazine’s so-called “Person of the Year.”

Given that, it’s hardly surprising that this MeToo movement has spiraled out of control.

This is the issue I have with all of these “I’m a Victim too!” fads that come tumbling along.

Everybody wants to glom on to MeToo – even if the worst that happened to them was being complimented by a man – or hooted at on the street.

When I lived in Chicago back in the 90s, it was not uncommon for Hispanic men to shout out sexually suggestive things as I passed them by.

It was irritating to be sure.

Some people are assholes. Though usually, I’d deal with it on my own – mostly by shouting back “F*ck you, asshole!”

One thing’s for sure. It would never enter my mind to use the hashtag #MeToo because of that.

And that’s the problem with this MeToo movement.

It’s conflating rudeness with sexual assault – just like Ashley Judd conflated being called “sweetheart” with sexual assault.

As I said in response to Ashley back in August:

There is real violence against women.
Honor killings, acid attacks, female genital mutilation, being sold into sex slavery, stonings, and yes, rape.
And by trying to equate being called “sweetheart” to that that kind of violence only minimizes the horror actual victims of violence suffer.

The MeToo movement is doing the same thing.

It’s creating an environment where being a victim is so desirable, all basic interactions men have with women are now suspect.

There are worlds of difference between a man calling you “sweetheart” and man sexually assaulting you.

And by treating them all the same, we’re trivializing rape.

But this MeToo movement doesn’t just trivialize rape; it also turns every man into a monster – with no regard for whether or not he is guilty.

What’s worse, the far-Left 3rd Wave Feminists want to turn every man into a monster.

And these women are willing to openly admit on social media that “bringing down the patriarchy” is reason enough to justify wrongfully accusing men and destroying their lives.

The MeToo movement is not about “empowering” victims of sexual assault.

Perhaps it started that way.

But that’s not what it’s about anymore.

It’s become — as a writer at the American Interest called it – The Warlock Hunt. MeToo is as much a moral panic as the Satanic Panic of the 1980s.

We’ve lost our perspective.

And as a result, actual victims of sexual assault are getting lost in all that noise.

In a day and age when the desire to be a victim is so strong in so many, nothing good can come of this.

Especially when you consider that it no longer matters if the men accused are in any way guilty of anything.

Dianny, when you say: “Especially when you consider that it no longer matters if the men accused are in any way guilty of anything.” you forget. They’re guilty of being MEN!

    Well said Dianny!

When Taylor Swift forgot her country roots and turned to the left, that’s when she lost me. And to associate with the likes of Ashley Judd is a stain you can never get rid of. She’s nothing but sewer scum.

Why do victims of sexual assault/harassment insist on showing cleavage?

Is it that they want attention from some men, but not others? In which case, how is a man to know?

I had a liberal woman call me a TRAITOR today on Twitter, because I pointed out that it was inappropriate for a reporter to ask Sarah Sanders if she’d ever been sexually harassed.
When I replied, I called her “Sweetie”.
