No, Hillary didn’t stand by her Deplorable comment

deplorable comment

In her therapy session with CBS’s Jane Pauley yesterday, Hillary Clinton supposedly “stood by” her deplorable comment from September 9, 2016.

But listen closely to the interview:

Hillary: “Well, I thought Trump was behaving in a deplorable manner. I thought a lot of his appeals to voters were deplorable. I thought his behavior, as we saw on the ‘Access Hollywood’ tape, was deplorable. And there were a large number of people who didn’t care. It did not matter to them.”

This video clip (courtesy of the Free Beacon) is titled “Hillary Clinton Stands by Deplorable Comment.”

But she doesn’t stand by it at all.

In fact, what Hillary does in this segment is rewrite history.

Look what she’s doing here. She claims that her deplorable comment related to Trump and his behavior.

But that isn’t at all what she said a year ago.

“You know to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables…the racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic, you name it.”

And, by the way, the Access Hollywood tape?  Really, Hillary?

Your deplorable comment was made on September 9, 2016.

The Access Hollywood tape was “leaked” to the Washington Post a full month after that.

Ugh, the lying. It burns.

Her deplorable comment was about us – not Donald Trump.

She didn’t say, “Donald Trump is deplorable and many of his supporters don’t care.”

If Hillary was standing by her comment, she would say, “Yes, half of Trump’s supporters were deplorable.”

So, no. She doesn’t stand by it. Instead, in classic Clinton fashion, she is pretending she said something else entirely.

But note how that segment closes.

Hillary actually says, “I don’t think that was determinative.”

Trust me, she knows it was determinative.

I’ve said several times that the weekend of September 9, 2016 was the exact time Hillary Clinton lost the election.

First she called us deplorable.

Then, two days later – one year ago today – she collapsed like a sack of potatoes and had to be hauled into her van by Secret Service. And it was all caught on video.

Not determinative?

What nonsense.

Something tells me that Hillary Clinton knows that her decision to attack and demean Trump’s supporters (AKA American voters) is a big reason why she lost.

So she’s rewriting history – again — to absolve herself of any responsibility.

This is exactly what she did when she was called out by a West Virginia coal miner over her saying “We’re gonna put a lotta coal miners and coal companies out of business.”

She claimed she was taken out of context. Then she claimed that she misstated what she meant.

If you don’t remember that exchange, you can read the entire thing HERE.

As I said at that time, Hillary “seems to believe that past statements somehow miraculously disappear once they come tumbling out of her mouth.”

She owns her “basket of deplorables” comment.

It is on video.

And she wasn’t talking about how deplorable Donald Trump was.

She was talking about us – the American citizens who supported him.

So, no. She isn’t standing by what she said.

Instead – in classic Hillary fashion — she is pretending she said something entirely different.

I love the freeze frame…” Why me? Why does everybody hate ME??”

And she’d be the first to go on record to say that Romney’s “48%” comment was determinative.
