Obama really was the Spy-in-Chief

new Nixon

Boy, Barack Obama really was the Spy-in-Chief, wasn’t he?

Circa is reporting that the Obama Administration sought NSA intel on American citizens at an alarming rate in 2016.

In fact, government officials conducted over thirty thousand searches of NSA intercept metadata last year alone.

For Pete’s sake, this should be a huge, huge story.

But it isn’t, is it?

Circa has been covering the domestic spying conducted by the the Spy-in-Chief for months now. And except for Hannity’s show on Fox News, I haven’t seen this covered anywhere.

But it’s this latest story that really takes the cake.

Check this out.

In all, government officials conducted 30,355 searches in 2016 seeking information about Americans in NSA intercept metadata, which include telephone numbers and email addresses. The activity amounted to a 27.5 percent increase over the prior year and more than triple the 9,500 such searches that occurred in 2013, the first year such data was kept.

And it wasn’t just metadata.

The government in 2016 also scoured the actual contents of NSA intercepted calls and emails for 5,288 Americans, an increase of 13 percent over the prior year and a massive spike from the 198 names searched in 2013.

But wait. It gets worse.

The searches ultimately resulted in 3,134 NSA intelligence reports with unredacted U.S. names being distributed across government in 2016, and another 3,354 reports in 2015. About half the time, U.S. identities were unredacted in the original reports while the other half were unmasked after the fact by special request of Obama administration officials. [Emphasis mine]

Among those whose names were unmasked in 2016 or early 2017 were campaign or transition associates of President Trump as well as members of Congress and their staffers, according to sources with direct knowledge.

This is explosive news you guys.

But have you seen much about it?

Today, Circa is reporting that they are requesting that President Trump declassify data on the NSA’s unmasking of American citizens.

Circa has formally requested that the Trump administration declassify records showing how often government officials have searched National Security Agency intercepts for intelligence on U.S. presidential candidates, members of Congress, journalists, clergy, lawyers, federal judges and doctors and how often such Americans had their identities unmasked by the intelligence community after Barack Obama made it easier to do so in 2011.

The news may not be getting widespread reporting (big shock there).

But it has gotten the attention of Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky who, this morning, tweeted this:

And this:

Screw this “inviting” Susan Rice to testify.

Trey Gowdy is right. They should subpoena her ass post haste.

For all the Left’s pissing and moaning about Donald Trump, he isn’t the one who has been threatening our civil liberties.

Barack Obama spied on the American people.

Let that sink in.

This Spy-in-Chief was a menace.

And it is high time both he and those within his administration are held accountable for this violation of our Fourth Amendment rights.
