The Obamas finagle one final flight on Air Force One

You may not know this. But it is tradition to allow the outgoing President one final flight on Air Force One on Inauguration Day.

Ordinarily, the outgoing President is flown home.

For example, in 2009, President George W. Bush left the White House lawn on Marine One which took him and Laura to Andrews Air Force Base. From there, he and his family climbed aboard Air Force One for the flight home to Crawford, Texas.

Since Barack Obama is moving to a rental house in Washington, you’d think that tradition wouldn’t be necessary.

After all, you don’t need to fly him home when his new home is easily reached by car in a matter of minutes.

Well, guess what.

Obama, like his predecessor, will take Marine One to Andrews where he and his family will board Air Force One for one final trip.

You see, the Obamas will not be leaving the White House for their rental house on January 20th.

Nope.

They’re headed out on a “well-deserved vacation” somewhere warm.

You read that right.

Less than one month after returning from their two week Hawaii vacation, the Obamas are taking one last vacation trip aboard Air Force One courtesy of the American taxpayer.

After all, if they first head to their new rental house and left for vacation on January 21st, they wouldn’t be able to exploit us for their travel expenses.

Would they?

I don’t know about you, but I’m not in the least bit surprised.

The Obamas are nothing if not expert freeloaders.

Does anyone really think they would miss out on one final opportunity to screw over the American taxpayer?

The Obamas lack any sense of common courtesy or respect. They are not gracious people.

They see it as their right to take that traditional final flight on Air Force One – even if their new home is a stone’s throw from the White House.

If they can squeeze one last all-travel-expenses-paid vacation trip out of the American taxpayer, of course they’re going to do it.

And it won’t keep them up at night feeling guilty for how they’ve abused us for eight years.

In fact, I’d venture to guess that Barack and Michelle believe we owe it to them.

And believing that the Obamas won’t find a reason to metaphorically drop their pants and shit on us on their way out the door is all manner of naïve.
