Omnipresent Self-Righteous Demigod
Maybe because I’m an amateur landscaper, I love the old saying, “Tend your own garden.”
So perfect.
To me it envisions a scene of two side-by-side backyards. One with beautiful landscaped gardens bursting with color. One with raggedy old shrubs overrun with weeds. And the owner of the weedy, disgusting backyard is forever standing at the fence and giving landscaping advice to the owner of the beautiful gardens.
Guess which guy is Obama?
Back in December, while conducting a townhall on Amnesty in Nashville, Obama, the “student of history” and “devout Christian,” said the following:
“I think the good book says, you know, ‘Don’t throw stones in glass houses,’ or make sure that we’re lookin’ at the log in our eye, before we’re pulling out the mote in other folk’s eyes. I think that’s as true in politics as it is in life.”
Now unless there is a never-before-seen apocryphal text called “The Book of Hallmark,” “People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones” is not found in any Bible I’ve ever read.
But let’s leave that aside for a moment. Isn’t it ironic that a guy who can’t seem to tend his own garden likes to lecture us to not worry about the sliver in your brother’s eye when all the while there is a log in your own?
Honey. If we have a log in our eye, Obama’s got an entire Redwood forest.
And yet there he was the other day, appearing on a radio program lecturing us on racism.
Lecturing us.
Again.
As he always does.
On race. On faith. On how we spend our own money. On guns. On income inequality. On our own healthcare decisions.
And when he’s nowhere near close to reaching the end of his endless carping, his lovely wife joins in. Wagging her finger at us for what we eat and what we feed our own children.
And on and on and on it goes.
I don’t know about you. But I don’t need to be lectured by this President.
He is not my pastor.
He is not an elder in my church.
He is not my father.
He is the Chief Executive of the Federal Government. Not our spiritual leader.
There’s another classic saying I learned later in life.
A good friend of mine once said to me, “Diann. Before you give anyone advice, ask yourself this, ‘Hello, Diann? Did they ask?'”
If it is inappropriate to meander into the mire by giving unsolicited advice to people you know, it stands to reason that lecturing hundreds of millions of people whom you do NOT know isn’t just inappropriate.
It is downright loathsome.
Hello, Barack? Did we ask?
I know I didn’t.
To have a man who has used race as a wedge to divide us as a people lecture me about racism is about as repugnant as having a pedophile lecture me on proper childrearing.
I can tend my own garden, thank you.
It never ceases to astound me that Obama really does believe that he has some unearned moral authority over us.
And not just us.
He doesn’t reserve his self-righteous screeds for America.
He lectures the world.
He really does have a Messianic complex.
He wasn’t elected to govern America, but to save us. Save us from ourselves. From our thoughts. From our opinions. Even from making foolish choices like listening to Rush or watching Fox News.
For Obama so loved, well, himself, that he deigned to walk among us and permit us to feed from his vast knowledge and expertise on the Economy, the Military, Foreign Policy, Education, Diet, Race Relations, concussions in the NFL, Gay athletes, the intelligence of the Cambridge police, creamy or crunchy peanut butter, who should make it to the Final Four, the history of the Crusades, spit or swallow.
This man truly does believe that he knows better than all of us.
No matter what the issue may be.
We’re not sovereign individuals from whom our government derives its just powers.
We’re nothing but recalcitrant children in need of an omnipresent self-righteous demigod.
Obama is a reckless man because he believes he is an infallible god.
How else do you explain his persistent fetish for inserting himself into everything?
How else do you explain his apparent belief that he is the fount of all wisdom and knowledge on every imaginable subject when, each time he opens his mouth, he reveals he is not?
Or, as Paul says in Romans Chapter 1: “Professing to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man.”
Obama is not God. He’s not a god.
He is a deeply flawed, corrupt man who fancies himself a omnipresent self-righteous demigod who is uniquely qualified and singularly positioned, not to govern, but to judge an entire nation of people.
