Precedent Matters

You know, if Barack Obama were telling the truth when he claims that the National Rifle Association is holding Americans hostage, we now know that Obama would have paid the NRA 1.7 Billion dollars and apologized to Wayne LaPierre to boot to get the NRA to let us go.

Because we all know now that Obama’s response to the humiliation of Americans being held hostage is to apologize to the hostage takers and give them buckets of cash.

So obviously the NRA isn’t holding us hostage.

Now, Montel Williams, noted scholar and historian, is demanding everyone who criticizes Obama’s cash for hostages scheme sit down and shut the hell up.

But let’s be honest here. This is an ugly precedent Obama has set. Precedent matters. I don’t care what the end result was. The ends never justify the means.

When you deal with the devil, the devil always wins.

As soon as Obama secured the freedom of four Americans held hostage in Iran by paying the mullahs a hefty ransom, more Americans were kidnapped in Iraq — an area under the control of Tehran.

Show of hands. Who’s surprised.

President Jefferson understood this. He refused to let a bunch of barbarian pirates hold countries hostage by capturing ships and demanding a tribute. So he sent the Marines over to North Africa to kick some Muslim ass.

By showing bad actors across the globe that the United States will bend to your will and pay you oodles of cash in exchange for Americans, Barack Obama just put a target on the back of every single American citizen overseas.

Precedent matters, you guys.

And don’t give me this, “Well, that 1.7 billion wasn’t a ransom payment! It’s just coincidence that we paid that money at the same time those Americans were released.” Tell me. Do you think some backward 12th Century throwback barbarians who kidnap American citizens are going to make that distinction?

Barack Obama and John Kerry have spent the last two years bending to the will of Tehran — buckling on every concession the Iranians demanded in order to secure this deeply naïve and flawed “Nuclear Deal.” The more Iran pushed, the more Obama and Kerry bowed to their demands.

And now this.

It’s shameful is what it is.

These inept fools were so desperate to claim a win for “Diplomacy,” they diplomatically gave away the farm.

Iran knows it can humiliate and denigrate the United States of America and the idiot in the State Department and the appeaser in the White House will scurry off to find a way to give Iran what it wants.

Consider Obama’s cocky, blustery claim from the State of Delusion Speech last week:

Let me tell you something. The United States of America is the most powerful nation on Earth. Period. Period. It’s not even close. It’s not even close. It’s not even close.

I guess he thinks if you repeat it three times, it will make it true.

Would the most powerful nation on Earth behave like this? Would the most powerful nation on Earth go to Iran wallet in hand and pay them a ransom to release Americans?

You know why Iran knew it could get away with this?

Because Barack Hussein Obama has taken the most powerful nation on Earth and turned it into a sniveling, groveling pantywaist.

Precedent Matters

What a fool he is. But more’s the fool who believes his lies.

And while it fills me with such gratitude that Americans who have been living unspeakable horrors inside that twelfth century hell-hole masquerading as a nation are now free and will be rejoining their families, the precedent the Obama Administration has set will put the lives of even more Americans at risk at the hands of barbarians.

For “diplomacy” to work, both sides need to believe in the rule of law and the civil society. Iran is not a civil society, but a barbaric regime. They seek to destroy the West, gain hegemony over the Middle East and wipe Israel off the face of the planet. And no amount of droning platitudes uttered by fools like John Kerry and Barack Obama is going to change that. No amount of “treaties” and “agreements” signed by naïve European nations and negotiated by blundering incompetents will change that.

And no amount of money paid as a tribute by reckless and naïve Presidents will turn Iran away from their evil ends. In fact, it only will help to fund them.

I doubt those 7 Iranians are still on the No-Fly list. They are now free to roam the earth as free as a bird. Thanks Barry!

Josh Earnest will probably hold a presser explaining that Barry is just checking out the carpet weave.

My first thought was “Would you like some fries with that?” Tell me you can’t see the Iranians asking for stuff, and Obumbeler suggesting something more. Then later on i was reminded of the Chrysler commercial where the guy says, in German, something about the best cars in the world drive the Autobahn….then he says, in English, “Ach I’ve said it 3 times and it’s still not true!”
