Shoot down the Chinese spy balloon, you feckless old coot
Good heavens. I’m absent for two weeks and now there’s a friggin’ Chinese spy balloon flying over the country unmolested.
What in the Sam Hill is going on?!
First off, thanks for the concerned emails, guys. I’m sorry for being MIA for 13 days. I was a bit overwhelmed and since I couldn’t stop working my paying job, it was my work here at PatriotRetort.com that had to pay the price.
My mum was transferred out of the hospital to a care home yesterday. Without going into too much detail, suffice it to say that she has a hospice coordinator on her medical team.
For me and my family, this is uncharted territory. We’re uncertain how Betty’s condition will play out. As you can imagine, all of us are a bit off-kilter.
The good news is that Betty is in a facility that’s literally five minutes from my house. And unlike at the hospital, which only permitted Betty one visitor a day, at the care home, both my brother and I should be able to visit her without taking a slot away from my dad.
I confess that a part of me is hoping my mum bounces back. Even at 90, Betty remains a stubborn, strong woman. But as I said, this is all uncharted territory. And when the hospice coordinator is discussing end-of-life matters and DNRs, I know bouncing back may be in the cards.
Any road. As you can imagine, between Betty’s condition and grappling with the painful Lupus symptoms that come with the cold weather, not to mention the workload from my job, something had to give. And, unfortunately, writing for PatriotRetort.com was that something.
With Betty settled and my workload easing a bit starting on Monday, I am hoping to get back to my normal routine.
To that end, what is up with the damn Chinese spy balloon taking a leisurely lookie-loo around the country while Grandpa Biden babbles about how half the women in his administration are women?
Yeah, really:
Can someone tell me why in Lucifer’s reach the commander-in-chief hasn’t ordered the military to shoot that spy balloon out of the sky?
Now, it isn’t as if the Biden administration hasn’t done anything about the Chinese spy balloon. They did try to keep us from finding out about it.
The most transparent administration ever, guys!
According to Bloomberg, administration officials made the executive decision not to say a word about the spy balloon for fear that revealing its presence might harm Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s planned visit to China.
In fact, the White House would have kept it under wraps entirely if it hadn’t been for that pesky, interfering Montana newspaper letting the cat out of the bag when it was spotted over Billings.
After the national news outlets picked up the story, all hell broke loose and the Biden administration couldn’t keep it hidden anymore.
Meanwhile, that stupid Chinese spy balloon is still flying over US airspace completely unmolested three days later.
During a press briefing yesterday, when a reporter asked what we were all thinking, (why aren’t you shooting the damn thing down?!), the Pentagon spokesman said that given the size and “payload” of the spy balloon, the Pentagon assessed the risk to people on the ground from falling debris if they shot it down and decided that they would leave it alone while they continue to “monitor” the situation.
But what doesn’t make any sense is that the spokesman also said they assessed that there was no risk to people on the ground.
Can you follow that logic?
Shooting it down doesn’t pose a risk to people on the ground, but they aren’t going to shoot it down because it might pose a risk to people on the ground.
Well, that’s certainly clear as mud.
In responding to the video clip of the spokesman’s bizarre answer, Jesse Kelly tweeted, “China sent that thing as a test. They got their answer. Late stage republic.”
But did China really need to do a test? Didn’t China already know that President Biden wouldn’t do a damn thing when it watched the Taliban roll into Kabul in August 2021?
Say, remember that video I included in the 2022 Ten Most Tiresome People column?
No? Well here it is:
“On my watch, they never will.”
Insert eyeroll here
Old Joe loves to play the tough guy, doesn’t he? When Russia threatens a country on the other side of the world, that old coot releases a propaganda video showing him strutting in slow motion like he’s Tom Cruise heading for the fighter jet.
But when China sends a spy balloon over the United States, Grandpa doesn’t have the balls to order fighter jets to shoot that motherfucker out of the sky.
(Pardon my cursing. It’s been a difficult couple of weeks)
Instead, his administration makes excuses for Biden’s fecklessness.
And where was Grandpa as the Chinese spy balloon was making its way to the east coast yesterday?
Why he was traveling to Philadelphia to give a speech at a Democrat National Committee event so he could talk tough about how he was fighting Republican lawmakers and climate change.
I suppose it could have been worse. Grandpa could’ve flown to Vegas for a fundraiser the way Obama did the day after four Americans were killed in Benghazi.
Here’s the bottom line. China might an enemy of the United States, but it isn’t an enemy of the Biden administration.
So while we look up in the sky in mystified anger, wondering why a Chinese spy balloon can fly over US airspace with gentle ease, for the Biden administration, it was just another day at the office.
As Jesse Kelly said in a Twitter thread yesterday:
People keep saying they “want answers” for why the Chinese are allowed to fly a spy balloon in our airspace.
You sure you want those answers? Cause I’m not so sure the average American wants to know how much their leaders have sold them out for thirty pieces of silver.
You look at the sky and see an enemy encroaching on your country. And you should. But do keep in mind that not a single leader of our cultural institutions thinks about America at all. Some of them hate it. But most, simply pay it no mind. There’s no patriotism there to stir.
“But this is China testing us and we’re failing?”
Yeah. And?? You think the Bidens are worried about America crumbling? You think the woke losers at the Pentagon actually care?
Milley is probably texting his Chinese buddies funny memes as we speak.
America is led by anti-Americans now. That’s why you spend so much time frustrated about what we are and aren’t doing.
You look at this place as a wonderful blessing. Something to be protected.
Your leaders look at it as an unguarded bank to be looted.
Boy, I can’t wait until Jesse’s book “The Anti-Communist Manifesto” comes out on June 6. It’s gonna be lit.
By the way, I wanted to say thank you for your kind words and prayers for Betty. It has been a comfort to know how many people have been lifting her up in prayer.
Update
Whelp. Now that the spy balloon has traversed the entire country, Grandpa ordered it shot down. It’s like shutting the barn door after the Chinese spy horse escapes.

I think this is for optics, the ccp’s way of telling the people that they are not free. But china’s ripe for collapse from within, so there’s that.
I think everybody had it wrong about the “spy” balloon. The CCP was just checking on their investments; getting aerials of all the American farm/ranch land they’ve bought up…no spying on US nuclear missile facilities (they probably have all they need to know about our most secret stuff from Feinstein and Swalwell). And flying over Myrtle Beach? Easy — it’s all about scoping out golf courses. There, nothing to worry about.
Prayers for you and your family. My priest always says “God listens to sinners” as he stares at me, so I figure I’ve the ear of the Big Guy. Wow, 90 years — what a blessing to have such a strong, resilient woman in your life. Tell her that your readers are in her corner supporting her.
Dianny, sorry for your rough seagoing…yes, uncharted. One day at a time. Think I can safely say we’re all behind you.
Have missed your humor like, bigly!
The Babylon Bee got it exactly right when they declared Biden will shoot down the spy balloon when it is done spying. All the sensitive data Joe got paid his 10% for has already been transmitted to Beijing. Impeachment proceedings for treason should have been started before the spy balloon was steered over our remaining nuclear silos in Montana, an incident which is infinitely more serious than an innocuous phone call.
I think it’s a “mostly peaceful” spy balloon. Nothing to see here, move along
Due to the balloon fiasco, china just paid off Biden’s $250,000 home equity loan.
Glad you’re back and feeling a bit better, Dianny. Continued prayers for you, Betty and your loved ones.
💕💕💕
Prayers for your family. I can relate, I am primary care giver for my mom who is 85. It is my full time job as I’m retired on disability and somewhat capable of the task. We’re not at the point of nursing home care but it is inevitable I’m afraid.
When, who and how did we identify this balloon came from China?
And EXACTLY WHO in the Pentagon made up the BULLSHIT that there were 3 China Spy balloons under the Trump administration?
Media is a propaganda arm of the Left.
Why aren’t these people being held responsible?
Prayers for your Mom.
Sorry about your mum, lady. Hope she does better, but that’s not what hospice counselors are for. Help your dad.
Let Betty know we are thinking of her.
Praying for you, Betty, and your family, Dianny. 💙
Prayers for Betty, you, and family. Having mom a short hop and a skip away and under watchful eyes should ease some of the strain.
The commander of NORAD and NORTHCOM admitted they had “missed “ previous balloon incursions under Trump, citing a flaw in their “dimensional awareness” but did sort of blowing a hole in the WH attempt to deflect.
General VanHerk said there was a chance to shoot this one down near the Aleutians but they chose not to since it was not “acting with hostile intent,” and doing so could maybe interfere with the Blinken meeting ….
The general, using more Air Force jargon, then went on to suggest they couldn’t shoot it down over land since it was about 200’ tall, PROBABLY weighed thousands of pounds, had a payload the size of a regional airliner, and was POSSIBLY carrying explosives
Instead they wait until it’s off the Eastern seaboard, shoot it down with an F-22…out of Langley btw, destroy the payload with $$$ missile rather than shred the balloon, the FAA orders a ground stop at a few coastal airports and then the DOD orders the Navy to steam around in circles looking for the wreckage ! $Billions spent to shoot down a balloon
Heartfelt prayers and empathy for you and your family – mine went through this, with my mother here at home with hospice. As for the balloon, wait until China demands a refund from the US for destroying their property. [grimace]
