So much for half a million

Uh-oh spaghettio!

The much-vaunted “March for Our Lives” – we were told by those paragons of truth in the media – would be half a million strong when it turned up in DC yesterday.

Why, there would be more people at this than at Trump’s inauguration, they snottily proclaimed.

And where was that half a million?

Well, not in DC.

They couldn’t even cobble together a quarter of a million people.

But given what slobs they were, it’s probably good half a million didn’t turn up.

According to CBS News, the DC march barely made it over 200 thousand.

But I’m not surprised. Are you?

I keep telling you that the Left pushes too hard and too far.

The Parkland shooting was nearly six weeks ago. And in that time, they shoved those Parkland kids in our faces day after day after miserable day.

They gave them interviews on cable news, magazine covers, guest appearances on Ellen and Bill Maher.

In other words, they oversaturated the market.

Remember back in the 1980s when Clara Peller first declared, “Where’s the beef?” for Wendy’s? That commercial became a sensation – until we all got sick and damn tired of it.

These Parkland human shields overstayed their welcome. And we got sick of them.

When they appeared on the cover of Time Magazine with the headline “ENOUGH,” most Americans’ response was, “yeah, we’ve had enough of you kids.”

And in the end, by the time of the main event – that stupid Democrat campaign event disguised as a “march” – we were as sick of them as we were Clara Peller.

As I explained the morning after CNN’s shameful “town hall,” this no-holds-barred anti-gun push will become what I call “Operation Backfire.”

If CNN thought for one moment that this “town hall” was going to win people to the anti-gun agenda, they really don’t have any idea what most Americans are like.

But we already knew that, didn’t we?

That’s precisely why they were completely caught unawares when Donald Trump won the election.

Seriously, we don’t have to lift a finger in this latest “conversation on guns.”

CNN is doing all the work for us.

Now, we’re only a week away from a mass-murderer killing seventeen people in Parkland, Florida. And this is how hard and far CNN is already pushing. Let that sink in.

They won’t be letting up anytime soon. Which means they will be pushing even harder and farther in the coming weeks.

Because for the Left there is no such thing as putting on the brakes – not when they get going the way they are now.

And there certainly isn’t anything close to “self-reflection.”

As a result, in the end, they will rush headlong over a cliff without even slowing down.

And what’s terrifically sad is CNN will drag those students from Parkland Florida over that cliff right along with them.

In the end, the Left always destroys its own movements.

They mistake the heat of the moment for “momentum.”

And they foolishly believe that promoting the hell out of something in the Fake News media translates into grassroots support.

It doesn’t.

The Left cannot argue facts because, to be honest, they don’t know many facts. And the few facts they do know don’t support their agenda, so they have to ignore them.

Instead, they use emotional appeals, inflammatory rhetoric, human shields and flagrant lies.

And they will push all of those too hard and too far.

As a result, I expect that this latest anti-gun full court press will backfire on them too.

The Democrats believe having the news media as their allies is a huge benefit to them.

But this isn’t 1998. Americans today have little trust in the mainstream press.

So in 2018, having the news media serve as your propaganda can only backfire.

And so long as the Democrats continue to use these inept fools to push their agenda, the Democrat agenda will continue to lose support.

After five painful, relentless weeks of flogging the hell out of this so-called “movement,” Americans were already tired of it before their big march ever began.

And as a result, the half a million marchers didn’t bother showing up.

But don’t worry. I am almost certain that in that same five week period, half a million new NRA members were born.
