Stop setting your hair on fire!

I had Twitter open on my computer as I listened to President Trump’s Rose Garden speech earlier. And I have to say, the rate at which Trump supporters were setting their hair on fire was pretty impressive.
Wow, the burning outrage.
I was practically choking on the stench of burning hair it was so bad.
In fact, I haven’t seen people on Twitter melt down that much since, well, Saturday.
Except instead of “Oh, my God! He smirked!!!!” we were served a heaping helping of “Oh, my God! He caved!!!!!”
“Trump betrayed his base!”
“This is his ‘Read My Lips’ moment!!!”
“He’s through!!!!!!!!”
I love it that some of the same Trump supporters, who were just five days ago lecturing folks on Twitter about jumping into hysteria without knowing all the facts, are now jumping straight into hysteria without knowing all the facts.
It’s adorable!
Speaking of setting things on fire, I’m sure there will be a fair amount of “Burning my MAGA hat” videos on social media over the next day or so.
You know, like when Trump fired missiles at Syria and the same folks setting their hair on fire today were setting their hair on fire because they were done with Trump (DONE WITH HIM!) over Syria.
Listen, this isn’t Dianny giving you some “trust the plan,” “4-D chess” rigmarole. But for crap’s sake, calm the heck down.
Let’s look at the facts on the ground.
We had dual votes in the Senate yesterday, neither of which passed the 60-vote threshold.
And though Congressional Democrats are beginning to break ranks and agree that voting for some kind of barrier funding has to happen, they were twitchy over how long the shutdown was lasting.
Nancy, Chuck and the assorted redshirt ensign Democrats have said repeatedly that they would be happy to negotiate if only the shutdown would end and those poor, pitiful Federal employees whom they care so much about could get back to work.
Today, Trump called their bluff, but with a time-limit.
You want to negotiate once the folks get back to work, fine. You have three weeks now in which to do just that. And if you can’t do it, he’ll declare a national emergency and get the border secure.
He did this on national television for Americans to see.
What’s more, because the news media thinks this is a huge loss for President Trump, they will play segments of that Rose Garden address over and over and over ensuring even more Americans will see it.
Now, if the Democrats renege and prove to be the unscrupulous snakes that they are (and they will), the American people will see with their own eyes just how friggin’ worthless and dishonest the Democrats in Congress are.
But I don’t think that’s the only reason Trump did this.
I think it all comes down to those thirty-odd freshmen Democrats in the House who are going wobbly.
They’re not cynical, useless hunks of flesh (yet) like Nancy Pelosi. They really do believe Democrats should make a deal with Trump.
Let’s face it. Many of them got elected from more conservative-leaning districts during November’s election. And they want to be seen as capable of doing something productive.
Trump handing them this olive branch will be extremely difficult for them to bat away – unlike Nancy and Chuck who already wasted no time proving to the country that their “reopen the government, then we’ll talk” BS was, well, BS.
And they did it all live on television for the country to see.
Trust me. Trump knows that Chuck and Nancy can’t let his addressing the country stand on its own. He knows they would be forced to rush to the microphones to respond.
And respond they did. By telling us all that they are just as unwilling to negotiate with the shutdown ended as they were before.
In other words, they’ve revealed their own craven lies.
Furthermore, if Nancy continues to refuse to let the President deliver the State of the Union address, she exposes even more just what a bad-faith actor she is.
But if she does relent, Trump will have the opportunity – in primetime – to make the case for securing our border and building the wall.
In other words, it’s a lose/lose for Nancy.
One last thing. Clearly there are some Republicans in the Senate (Romney for example) who were squirrelly about keeping the shutdown going. Trump removing that impediment increases the likelihood that the Republicans in both chambers will hold fast for wall/barrier funding.
All-in-all, from my way of thinking, it’s too soon to toss your hands up in defeat.
Setting your hair on fire and washing your hands of Trump now seems about as silly as storming out of a ballgame at halftime because your team is behind.
Or like I told Joe Dan Gorman on Twitter:
As Eliot Ness said to Al Capone at the end of “The Untouchables:”
“Never stop fighting till the fight is done.”
But I think my pal MJA from iOTWReport put it best earlier today:
For the people who are crying right now. Did you actually think he was going to negotiate for wall money in mid December, keep in mind, there were two weeks they got off for Christmas, and then on the 2nd week of January say, ‘oh fuck it, let’s use SOE and build it that way.’?
We would eternally hear, HE DIDN’T EVEN GIVE CONGRESS A CHANCE TO NEGOTIATE!
Even from the Conservatives! Be realistic here.
He’s done a lot of shit the past 2 years that took some Republican presidents their entire terms to do. Yeah, I know we’re anxious. But dude has faced a lot of shit from both parties. Give the man a minute before you tear down his Tiger Beat posters from the walls. LOL!
Always count on MJA to get to the meat of the matter.
Setting your hair on fire now seems a wee bit premature. Besides, nothing stinks more than burning hair.
Trump has removed every Democrat excuse for not negotiating.
So if they refuse to negotiate or compromise now, they will be exposed to everyone as the open borders frauds that we know they are.
We have three weeks. I say we watch to see what happens.
In the meantime, those of you who live in these Freshman Democrat Representatives’ districts can get on the phone and call them – urge them to work with the President and fund border security and a wall/barrier.
And, for heaven’s sake, put down the matches and leave your hair alone!

These types of reactions on Twitter are like when one person yawns and then the entire room starts yawning. People react to how their friends are reacting before they take a minute to understand why X said this or X did that.
I had to leave a few threads today because of all the unnecessary wrist cutting. LOL. As if we’re back to square one and 0bama’s back in. Gaaah!
Yawning! That’s exactly it.
Meanwhile, Alexandria Oqueso Crouton just told her fellow Dems she gives zero fuc<s what they think of her.
Nancy better hire some babysitters.
Pelosi and her, “This is a lesson learned” speech.
Such bull and bluster.
YOU are going to teach the Premier Prez a lesson?
The Chief of chafing comebacks will have you sucking and stuttering through your dentures even more than you do already.
The three weeks are the key. Even Sen Graham 2.0 asked for it. Pres. Trump is a long term player. What’s 3 weeks until the hammer drops… And it will drop.
Remember this dude made billions while dealing with New York construction unions… Chuck and Nancy… Pffft
Yes!!! I agree. I’ve learned over the last 2 years to wait because with Trump there’s always another shoe that needs to drop before it’s over.
I expect knee-jerk shrieking and rending of garments from liberals. I’m getting really sick of seeing that kind of unthinking reacting from supposed Conservatives.
Agreed. These are the same folks who justifiably shred Republicans in Congress who surrender instead of fighting beside Trump. But Trump agrees to open the government for 3 weeks for negotiations, and they are the ones who surrender and bail on Trump. It’s a real Romney/Flake move.
When President Trump declares the state of emergency, (because the Dem’s won’t negotiate in goid faith), despite their kicking and screaming, he’ll get the wall built.
The President has put them on notice. It’s really up to the Dem’s.
It’s part of his rope-a-dope strategy. He’ll counterpunch eventually
The Rose Garden is a great venue. The President used it well today, showed power and authority to congress. Negotiate now, there’s a drop dead date in THREE weeks.
Totally missed today’s Chuck and Nancy show, it probably was just about the same as any number of other episodes of Chuck and Nancy. You’re right, they are telling craven lies! It will be proven again. They will continue to be unwilling to negotiate to help others — if it also helps President Trump.
..
I’m starting to hate Trump supporters as much as the left because most of them are fickle cry babies.
One issue is all it takes, he says one thing off course, and ” OH MY GOD HE CAVED I AM DONE WITH TRUMP IM OFF THE TRAIN I GIVE UP HE BETRAYED ME”
Then by the following Tuesday, they love him again. So it’s really annoying and sad, I have to say, the right wing is a bunch of babies too.
For the fake trump supporters, you can do two things, go vote for Kamala Harris and go get a life.
chuckles tried to school the prez by saying “He learned his lesson”,,,,,ummm yeah right, and in other news,,,,Cuomo became a follower of Moloch with his abortion bill, is there anything you sane NY’ers can do Dianny?
Thank you Dianny.
