Over 94 million Americans are out of the Labor Force. Our national debt continues to creep toward twenty Trillion dollars. The administrative state — that pesky unelected branch of government — plows ahead creating law in the guise of “regulation.” Congress has abdicated it’s “separate but equal” role in our Government. But don’t worry, folks. They’re tackling the important stuff.
On Tuesday, The House of Representatives voted to make the bison the national mammal of the United States.
Hurrah! We’re saved!!!
While they’re at it, perhaps they can designate the Bison cow-patty the official symbol of Congress.
No wonder these guys have a disapproval rating of 66%.
We ceased to be a Republic in large part due to the feckless Republican Congress’ unwillingness to stand up to a lawless, tyrannical President. That is the legacy of John Boehner. That is the legacy of Mitch McConnell. Their fear of standing on principle and flexing their separate but equal authority has turned them into a farce. And what’s more farcical than this?
There they are, rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic while this ship of state sinks to the bottom of the ocean.
I look forward to hearing all of the ways making the bison the national mammal of the United States has impacted your life. I’m sure it’s significant.
Of course, put a pin in your celebration. It hasn’t happened yet. You see, this all-important item must go to the Senate for approval, before it can land on the President’s desk for him to sign. And there’s no guarantee that will happen. You see, I’m sure Elizabeth Warren will filibuster out of some sense of obligation for her faux Native American roots — maybe on the claim that it is “cultural appropriation” for the White Man’s Government to adopt the bison.
And knowing Mitch McConnell, who folds like a bad poker hand at the first sign of opposition, he’ll probably let the measure die in the Senate rather than face the prospect of Elizabeth Warren’s filibuster.
After all, it might shut down the government!!!!
I’d say Congress should be ashamed of itself, but I’m afraid at this point, they are quite incapable of feeling shame about anything.
