Team Eeyore Gloats
Yesterday Donald Trump met with Hispanic leaders and voiced a willingness to find a way to deal with illegal aliens in the US without having to deport them. Naturally Team Eeyore can’t stop strutting around like Mick Jagger on stage.

What Team Eeoyre fails to realize is Donald Trump has always voiced a willingness to provide legal status to illegals in the US.
Frankly, I’m surprised they don’t get that.
In January, I wrote a column outlining Trump’s “Touchback Amnesty” plan. The Eeyores of the #NeverTrump movement clearly ate it up with a spoon. It was shared on Facebook a thousand times.
In fact, just last night — in an effort to “prove” that Donald Trump “flip-flopped” — one #NeverTrumper tweeted out the link to this article I wrote in January as “proof” that Donald Trump flip-flopped.
If you have to cite an article written seven months ago as proof he “flip-flopped,” how in Lucifer’s reach is it a “flip-flop?”
One genius over at Erick Erickson’s site claims Trump not only “flip-flopped,” he “veered Left.”
Trump clarifies his position about illegal aliens currently in the US. Turns out it is pretty much what Marco Rubio advocated when he was running for President, and that is “veering Left?”
In truth, the only people who are constantly saying Donald Trump wants to deport all illegal aliens and “tear families apart” are working for the Clinton Campaign.
Trump himself has always believed that some sort of legal status has to be made available. That doesn’t change the fact that he wants to secure the border, deport illegal criminals and have extreme vetting for refugees.
This gloating from Team Eeyore is disingenuous. They claim that those of us who supported Trump were hoodwinked. Well, I support Trump and I’m the one who wrote about Trump’s “Touchback Amnesty” plan back in friggin January.
So how have I been “hoodwinked?”
The Eeyores in the #NeverTrump movement are so desperate to find every little thing they can to damage Donald Trump.
[But don’t worry. Damaging Donald Trump won’t mean they’re helping Hillary win!]
Their desire to hurt Trump has nothing constructive behind it. They just want to strut around like Alfalfa going to pick up Darla while crowing about how much smarter they are.
It’s petty and childish.
One sophisticated #NeverTrump commenter over at Ben Shapiro’s site wrote that watching this election cycle is like living across the road from a trailer park.
You know, because people who vote for Trump are trailer trash.
Oh, hardy har!!
And I thought only Leftists were condescending assholes.
Trump didn’t “veer” anywhere. He didn’t “flip-flop” at all. Instead, he took the time to correct the fearmongering rhetoric coming out of the Clinton campaign and the Enslaved Press (same thing).
What he said yesterday is not in any way different from what he has been saying all along.
In fact, in July of 2015, Donald Trump told Dana Bash from racist CNN:
I would get people out and then have an expedited way of getting them back into the country so they can be legal…. A lot of these people are helping us … and sometimes it’s jobs a citizen of the United States doesn’t want to do. I want to move ’em out, and we’re going to move ’em back in and let them be legal.
But he flip-flopped!!!! You Trumpkins are so stupid, you’re like trailer park trash!!!
My biggest problem with “Touchback Amnesty” is the cost. If you’re just going to provide illegals with legal status, why spend the money to first deport them? That’s just moronic.
Do some Trump supporters believe that a President Trump plans to send all illegals out and never let them back?
Yes, some of them do, but not because Trump has ever espoused that position.
The point of my column (from friggin’ January) was to make these Trump supporters realize they were assigning to Trump a position he does not hold.
In actuality, Donald Trump has always believed that we had to find some way to give legal status to those illegals currently in the US.
In other words, what he said to this group of Hispanic advocates yesterday is right in line with what he has been saying all along.
So how, my misguided friends from Team Eeyore, how is that a “flip-flop?”

Get off the fainting couch, honey. That isn’t Trump’s position and you know it. There is a big difference between dealing with the illegals who are here and not securing the borders and letting more flood in.
How would you or any of us know what his position on the matter was since he has revised every one of them multiple times? Thug and scumbag Steve Bannon must have been thoroughly stoned when Trump took this position when head of Trumpbart to suddenly stab Cruz in the back as he has with everyone else.
If Trump is all this side has then better get accustomed to “President Hillary Rotten Clinton real soon barring the old decrepit hag croaking before the election. Trump as warned multiple times from folks with functioning cortex everywhere would be a disaster as a candidate.
Isn’t it great to be able to take an opposing position in the comments section of a website? If you try that at the Right Scoop, the Eeyores in the comments section flag you and then you get banned. I guess not marching in lockstep over there is not allowed. Seems kind of thug-like to me.
Considering Trump said in 2012 Romney’s illegal immigrant plan was ‘too hard on hard working immigrants’ his original 2016 campaign position was a complete flip-flop.
I wrote a letter to my Senator (Al Simpson) back in the day. . .
Asking him to explain how, if we reward the breaking of laws ;
That we cannot be assured of more of the same type behavior?
He assured me that this was a one time deal, never to happen again.
