The Block Option on my iPhone is getting a workout

The Block Option on my iPhone is getting a workout

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been using the block option on my iPhone quite a bit.  In fact, I have had to block 49 numbers – all of whom are texting me urging me not to delay but to donate to stop the Democrats NOW!

I’ve gotten texts purportedly from Donald Trump Junior, Eric Trump, Kevin McCarthy, Martha McSally, Dan Crenshaw – among others.

And they are incessant – like stalker incessant.

“Hi, Dan Crenshaw here! Did you not get my last text?!”

“Hi, this is Eric Trump. This is the third time I’ve texted you!”

“Hi, this is Dianny. Lose my number you friggin’ stalkers!”

There were days there when I was getting three or four of these unwanted texts in a matter of hours.

My response was not cough up money, but to block, block, block.

I figured I wasn’t alone in my growing irritation over these pesty texts, and I was right.

Rather than address the growing irritation among the Republican base, the NRCC’s response was to act like assholes.

Like this tweet from the NRCC’s “Deputy Communications Director:”

Dumbass bob tweet

Yeah, I did a screen shot of Bob the “Deputy Communications Director’s” tweet because I’m thinking eventually this idiot is going to realize this was a big mistake and he’ll delete the tweet.  But here it is two days later and it’s still there.

And after Bob got hammered by Republicans who are just as sick and tired of these texts as I and Kurt Schlichter are, he signed off his personal Twitter account and signed on to the NRCC’s Twitter account to continue the fight:

Oh, yeah. That’s going to inspire folks to donate money to the NRCC.

Can you believe this idiot?

Is it any wonder the Republicans lost the House in 2018?

If this is their idea of appealing to Republican voters, clearly they never met a single Republican voter.

The NRCC deciding to take on Kurt Schlichter was a tremendously bad idea.

As the old saying goes, never go into a battle wits unarmed.

In his column today, Kurt drags the oafs at the NRCC so hard, they have third degree rug burns.

Here’s some real talk. These needy, obnoxious texts are ticking off the base. I bet they get some money, but they also leave a ton on the table. Of course, the DC swells have no idea since they are DC swells, but here in America, we’re all done with them. And it’s not merely because we resent transparent grifts designed to separate old people from their Social Security cash, though that is unacceptable (I recall trashing Dems for this same idiocy in prior cycles). It’s because this so clearly demonstrates the utter contempt the establishment has for the base that is the establishment’s whole purpose for being.

Now, after I made clear my displeasure on Twitter, the NRCC’s communications shop deployed not to win the election, not to learn how it could be more effective, but to shut me up, along with the hundreds of outraged conservatives who joined in. I was told that I was putting the whole campaign to retake the House at risk, as if an operation vulnerable to one guy on Twitter ought to be the cornerstone of our offensive. And I was warned that I should lay off the NRCC because it has collected only half the dough the Democrats’ congressional committee has, as if this candid admission of failure doesn’t demonstrate the need for a thorough house cleaning instead of a doubling down. The argument was pretty much, “We’re doing terribly – stop messing it up, man!”

And not surprisingly, this strategy went poorly for them and they went radio silent after their humiliation, but the damage was done. The NRCC has zero cred, and it’s a result of its track record of failure, its 60% overhead, and its innovative strategy of trying to cut the heads off of its critics rather than pull its own head out of where it’s wedged.

The establishment needs to understand and accept that the fat days of skimming the cream off, cycle after cycle, while two mainstream parties traded power are gone. The age of the clinky-clinky bourbon glass, winky-winky smoky room scam has passed. What is at stake is not the GOP spending a few years in the wilderness; the other party wants to destroy our country and turn us into serfs. This is serious, and we need serious people with a serious strategy, not this amateur hour clusterfark.

The NRCC is dead to us unless and until we see some heads on pikes and until we see that the vast majority of the money we donate is going to candidates, not to parasites. And all the other acronym groups and PACs better wake up too. They are next.

We’re done with funny business as usual. We have less than 100 days until election day. NRCC, get squared away or get bent.

You have to read the whole thing HERE.  It’s just chock-a-block with trademark Schlichter humor and sense.

Kurt’s suggestion is the same as mine and many other Republicans – give directly to a candidate’s campaign and skip the “skim off the top” middlemen from these annoying PACs entirely.

I’ll add this second suggestion: get to know the block function on your phone, and get to know it very well.

It was enough to see, aside from Ted Cruz, that Rinos were the ones on the videos. I don’t want any of them returned to DC.

I blocked these scammers weeks ago. Their junk was hitting my phone 2 or 3 perhaps hour. They have to stop. ?

It’s not just texts and twitter. It is also email and snail mail. I donated some money to the Trump campaign. Suddenly I am inundated with emails from D. Trump, D. Trump, Jr., and I don’t know how many others, several times a day. I had to unsubscribe from 4 or so mailings. I check my Mom’s snail mail. She gets tons of mail from people running for Congress from across the country – often times from the same person each week (like Martha McSally), and even sometimes the same person multiple times a week (Dan Crenshaw, Burgess Owens). They are almost like vultures, but instead of waiting for their carrion to die they land next to it and say, “hey are you going to die anytime soon? Come on, be a pal, die already.” I know it probably isn’t the candidates, it’s the mercenary bastards they hire to do the mailings and such (who couldn’t really care if their candidate is elected or not).

What I’d like to know is why I keep getting phone calls and messages from Congressman Gerry Connelly (D-VA). I’m not a registered Democrat, and I’ve never contributed to or voted for him, nor would I.

I get mail & phone calls from Mary Gay Scanlon, a dopey, obnoxious Democrat congress critter who is on the Judiciary Committee. And every time I get a phone call, I call back and rip them a new one.

I’ve been getting besieged by these texts! It’s constant! When I donate, I donate right to the President or a specific candidate. I refuse to donate to the NRCC.

    • July 28, 2020 at 9:42 pm

You are 110% over the target. Donate to the candidate you really want to help get elected because it is NOT coming from the crooks at the NRCC! I’ve witnessed and sure more of you have as well, that a good repub being up against a not well liked demo, will lose bigly. All because they received absolute;y no help money-wise or any other wise from the NRCC!! Be diligent and help directly anyone up against a demonicRAT! The low-life’s at the NRCC sing all the way to the bank with donated money for candidates! An aside– last election cycle, I started getting emails from the damned demos! I sent ’em all right back with “I’m a devoted Republican” and that’s the only thing I can repeat openly. Worked. LOL

So, it’s not just me? They need to go back to Marketing 101. Those dopes couldn’t sell a f–k on a troopship.

I get phone calls, texts, and emails all day long as well. Irritating as Hell. I always text back and ask:
Is Hillary OR Obama in jail yet? BECAUSE YOU BASSTURDS AIN’T GETTING ONE RED DIME FROM ME TILL YOU DO THE JOB WE SENT YOU TO DO!! UNTIL THAT DAY, PISS OFF!!” I’m glad to hear that there are others who get the same harassment, and hate it as much as I do. Dang both Kurt and Dianny too? Wow two of my favorite political Superstars and I have something else in common. I’m living the Good Life Now!! YEAH BECKY!! Pass the Jack Please!!

  • July 28, 2020 at 9:26 pm

Goes for nrsc also. I don’t give them a dime. They do not want true conservatives elected to the senate ala Doug Collins in GA.

Have never given a nickel to any political party or candidate, my vote is valuable, earn it.
Like respect, I believe a vote should be earned, you don’t earn it by using my money.

I dropped the Repubs years ago and changed my registration to Independent. You’d a’ thought I had run out onto the field and slapped the Homecoming Queen and then kicked the team mascot! There was begging and pleading to come back to the fold. Of course, I still received a seemingly endless flood snail-mail fund raising letters. Anytime they included a post-paid envelope I gave it the Sharpie reply. mostly “NOT ONE DIME!” I still receive them on occasion, but nobody sends post-paid envelopes anymore.

Can you imagine what the Dems are doing to their people right now?

You know what I hate, too?
Those stupid questionnaires they used to send me.
“What’s most important to you?” type of stuff.
And then at the end you find out they don’t want to hear shit from you if you don’t send them money
along with the questionnaire. Like, straight out telling you they won’t read your answers. LOL!
After they put McCain on the ticket I scribbled a GFY note. I haven’t seen an envelope since then.

Oh! A week ago I was investigating local candidates for the state house and I had spent maybe 5 minutes on each candidate’s website and going through their endorsements, looking for pro-Trump comments and to see if they mention 1A and 2A, Pro-Life, etc.

Within an hour, I received 2 or 3 emails from one candidate. Which was odd, because I never signed up for or sent any messages to any candidate. But there were emails in my inbox anyway.
So I sent that candidate an email back and gave them the what for, and told them they were creepy as hell for snatching my email out of thin air like that AND I’m voting for the other candidate.
I also told the campaign that if the candidate is going to pretend to be a Republican, she could at least mention The Constitution or the president on her website.

    Stank ho.

Don’t give one cent to politicians. They are already (over)paid by my taxes. If they actually do something constructive with their time in office, I may consider giving them my vote. But if all sit around and do nothing but ask for more money, they won’t even get that. Did I mention I have close to zero respect for the lot of ’em?

I had to silence my phone to stop the bombardment
