The Circus is Closing

You know, when I first heard that the circus is closing, I figured people were talking about the Clinton Global Initiative.

Imagine my surprise when I discovered they meant Ringling Brothers.

After one hundred and forty-six years, “The Greatest Show on Earth” is coming to an end.

But it isn’t really that shocking.

Sure, PETA making their life a living hell may have had something to do with it.

But I think it’s more than that.

When unhinged Leftists are turning the world into a circus, how can Ringling Brothers compete?

Why bother spending money on the admission price to see “The Greatest Show on Earth” when all you need to do is turn on any TV channel and watch the Leftist Circus happening on a daily basis?

Go to any college campus and you can witness amazing contortionist acts as fragile, flustered students tie themselves into knots at the first sign of a differing opinion.

And unlike Ringling Brothers, the Leftist circus still features elephants — specifically Michael Moore and Rosie O’Donnell.

Sure, their tricks are old and worn out and not particularly enjoyable. But it’s still all manner of entertaining watching them struggle to stand on an ever-shrinking soap box.

The Leftist Circus is resplendent with clowns dressed in ridiculous costumes while they make fools of themselves.

Yes, I know. These clowns take themselves seriously.

But isn’t that part of the fun?

When Soros-funded buses are unloading hundreds of shrill, angry girls dressed as vaginas, how can Ringling hold our attention when all they offer is a clown car putt-putting around the center ring?

Now that every university in the country has become a clown college, Ringling could see the writing on the wall.

They simply cannot compete with the Left.

If overpaid, pampered Hollywood celebrities are willing to perform intellectual pratfalls while hogging spotlight, who needs Ringling Brothers anymore?

Of course the difference is clear.

Ringling Brothers didn’t force unsuspecting Americans to endure their show unwillingly.

The Leftist Circus, on the other hand, has no choice but to shove their clownish behavior in our faces whether we want them to or not. Otherwise, nobody will notice they’re there.

In the face of their shrinking relevance, the Left has resorted to becoming nothing more than an outlandish circus act.

And they truly believe this is the way to capture not only our attention, but our support.

The less we care about them, the louder and more obnoxious they become.

But let them keep it up.

They’re doing more to steer the country to the Right than anything conservatives could possibly dream up.

At the hysterical rate they’re going, it won’t take a hundred and forty-six years for this Leftist Circus to fold up its tent and disappear into obscurity.

Really good points, here. It IS a true shame about Ringling Bros, though. It would never have entered my mind that it could close down. A genuine tragedy!
