The Democrats took the bait

The Democrats took the bait

After Alabama declared itself a Sanctuary State for the Unborn, a few conservative writers sent up flares saying Alabama had overstepped (like this column from David Harsanyi at the Federalist).

The law goes too far, so the argument goes.  And the pushback from the Left will hurt the pro-life movement.

But I don’t see it that way.

Now if we were dealing with sane people, I would agree with Harsanyi’s assessment.

But the Democrats are not sane people.  These are the folks who set their hair on fire over every little thing.

It’s why President Trump can so easily bait them into acting like idiots by simply tweeting.

And I know these Democrats.  They always overreact.  And they always push too hard and too far.

Yes, the Alabama pro-life legislation is probably the strictest to come down the pike since Roe v Wade.  I agree with that assessment.

But the way I see it, the Alabama law is a baited hook – dangling there waiting for the overreacting Democrats to pounce.

And like the insane idiots that they are, the Democrats took the bait.

Only 13% of Americans believe abortion should be unrestricted.  The vast majority of Americans think there should be at least some limits on abortion – for example, banning third-trimester abortions.

If these Democrats were smart, they would have tempered their responses to the Alabama law – keeping in mind that the vast majority of Americans do expect some limits.

But they didn’t.

Instead, Democrats took the bait.

Like the overacting hysterics they are, the Democrats running for President are now calling for a Federal law that overturns state laws and protects abortion on demand with no restrictions.

From Elizabeth Warren to Saint Kirsten Gillibrand to Pete Buttigieg, all these 2020 Democrats took the bait. Without any thought of the consequences, they are telling voters just how radical and extreme their abortion views are.

The conservatives who cautioned that the Alabama law would backfire didn’t take the Democrat Party’s reactionary default setting into account.

The Democrat Party does not believe in reasoned persuasion. They believe in radical pushback. So it isn’t at all a surprise that their response was to drop all pretense of “safe, legal and rare” and go all-in on unfettered, unrestricted abortion on demand.

Add to that the Democrats’ distaste for representative government or the rights of the states, it isn’t surprising that their reaction is to propose a centralized, authoritarian Federal dictate that ignores the will of the vast majority of the people.

Meanwhile Progressive Democrats in Congress are calling for the purging of any pro-Life Democrats that may still be lurking in their midst.

They expect absolute fealty from their party while at the same time making it crystal-freaking clear that any state’s citizens who aren’t in lockstep with their extremism on abortion will be forced to obey.

Now, I’m not saying the legislators in Alabama proposed this pro-life law as a way to bait these morons.  The voters in Alabama are largely pro-life and their representatives were practicing that quaint notion of, well, representing the will of the people.

It’s just an added bonus for us that the modern Democrat Party is populated by overreacting kooks who stupidly took the bait.

Now the façade is gone.

Thanks to the Alabama law (and Georgia, Missouri, Louisiana etc.), voters are witnessing in the clear light of day the virulent hatred many in the Democrat Party have for the American people.  From “white women to “old white men” to “the religious right” to “red state rednecks” — you name it – the Democrats despise them all.  And they have no problem saying so.

In fact, their sputtering hatred for anyone who disagrees with them makes Hillary’s “deplorable” comment look downright quaint by comparison.

Abortion has always been one of those issues that most Americans didn’t want to have to think about.  Even those who consider themselves pro-choice aren’t particularly comfortable with the practice.  Which explains why such a large majority of Americans believe there should be some limits on abortion.

Including Democrat voters.

Only 46% of Democrat voters believe abortion should be legal in the second trimester.  And as far as third trimester abortions go, only 18% of Democrats favor the practice.

In other words, only 18% of their own voters believe abortion should be legal in all three trimesters.

Yet, despite that, the Democrats are pushing to remove any and all restrictions on abortion.

This is not a party that has its finger on the pulse of the American people.

But these Democrats can’t help themselves.

They do not brook disagreement.

They cannot win over the people through persuasion and a better argument.  So instead, like insufferable authoritarian scolds they’d rather force people to do what they want.

Like the old joke goes, “Democrats: Ideas so good they have to be mandatory.”

And thanks to the recent spate of pro-life laws, we are getting to witness the radical extremism of the Democrats in full view of the public.

Americans do not respond well to those who openly hate them while shamelessly declaring that the citizenry will be forced to bend to their will.

It’s just not in our nature to accept the role of obedient sheep.

So even if the Alabama law gets overturned in the courts, it will have been worth it.

The Democrats took the bait.

Alabama pulled the curtain back and let us all see just how radical the modern Democrat Party has become.

As Jesse Kelly always says, “All the Democrats have to do is not be insane. But they can’t do it.”

There have been over 60 million American babies murdered in the womb since Roe V Wade. Now demrats and the American Chamber of Commerce want to import illegals to fill the void. The potential loss to our society in these snuffed out lives is devastating. We will be paying a stiff price for this holocaust for decades to come.

JillingHand is struggling to stay in the picture. “Experiencing a pregnancy”, she makes it sound like nothing more than gas pains.

…or some minor illness that is inconvenient and unpleasant.

Exactly. Like those prescription commercials: “Talk to your doctor if you’re experiencing erectile dysfunction.”

I mean who on Planet Earth says, “Good news, honey! I went to the doctor and guess what?! I’m experiencing a pregnancy!”

SIDEBAR: In yet another vain attempt at kicking sand in God’s face ….

Morehouse College is a private , all-male, historically black college, in Atlanta Georgia. The college is one of the few remaining traditional men’s liberal arts colleges in United States.

Yesterday, Morehouse commencement speaker, billionaire Robert F. Smith, said his family would pay off the Class of 2019’s student loans. Nice!

Mr. Smith should’ve been speaking at nearby Spellman, an all girls college, when he closed out his speech by saying, “may God keep you in the cradle of ‘her’ hands”.

But of course the MSM was silent.

To think that Harvard, Yale and Princeton were ‘once’ Christian universities

        Bernie Sanders suffers extreme heartburn.

        Expect Morehouse to raise tuitions?

“…the Alabama law is a baited hook – dangling there waiting…”

States: What to have a righteous debate into the constitutionality of this issue?

Dems: No, that would be unwelcome intellectually exercise probably detrimental to our progressivism. It’s an amoral POLITICAL debate! Enough said, we’re all in.

    SCOTUS: We like constitutional scholarship.

That’s exactly what made me laugh last night. Like you always say, they push too far and they don’t know when to stop. I am enjoying that 2 Dem govs are siding with pro-lifers.
    Keep pushing! HAHA!

“Abortion on Demand without Apology” IS indeed the Marxist slogan, nice of the Dems to come completely out of the Marxist “every human is a cog in a machine” closet.

The Democrat Party, no morals, no intelligence, no humor, no common sense, and soon to be no more.

“The conservatives who cautioned that the Alabama law would backfire didn’t take the Democrat Party’s reactionary default setting into account.” Ah, but they’re not conservatives any longer, as they in fact surrendered that title to the devil when they were inducted into the brotherhood of politicians. The same, of course, applies to democrats when they are inducted into that cesspool of frauds, jades, scoundrels, reprobates and various and sundry reprehensible reptiles. What ever party affiliation(s) and principles they once enjoyed before their induction have now become mere window trimming, as their primary objective for the rest of their life now that they’ve successfully collared that position, is to hold that position until death. The vast majority of these cretins shall be manifestly successful in that endeavor, with a tiny minority of them succumbing to character assassination or worse, should they step out of line rather than following their marching orders from the Powers that Be.

Ah, but I’m sure it will come as a surprise to David Harsanyi that he is no longer a conservative. He, like myself, is probably not aware that you serve as Arbiter of who is and is not conservative. Honestly, I have no idea how I’ve gone so far in my life without knowing you existed as Conservatism’s Grand Arbiter and Hall Monitor. Poor word of mouth I guess.

And since I wrote: “Now if we were dealing with sane people, I would agree with Harsanyi’s assessment,” that must mean, according to you, that I too am no longer a conservative who has surrendered to the devil (boy, will my pastor be surprised).

If I really wanted to belong to a group that demands ideological lockstep, brooks absolutely no difference of opinion, and has Hall Monitors who let us know who is and is not ideologically pure, I would be a Leftist.

“We fed the public a line of deceit, dishonesty, a fabrication of statistics and figures. We succeeded because the time was right and the news media cooperated. We sensationalized the effects of illegal abortions and fabricated public opinion polls of which indicated that 85% of the public approved of unrestricted abortion when we were well aware that the true figure was a mere 5%.

We unabashedly and unashamedly lied, and yet our statements were quoted (by MSM) as though they were written into law.” –BERNARD NATHANSON

Dr. Bernard Nathanson details the deceptions, dirty tricks, and other tactics that helped make abortion legal and socially acceptable in the United States.

“This is not a party that has its finger on the pulse of the American people.”

This is a party that believes it has the right to hook its finger in the nose of the American people.

That’s the polite version. ‘Cause I’m a nice guy today.
