The Leftists are quoting from the Bible again

Ever since the vicious little gremlin from South Bend decided to accuse Christians of being hypocrites at Thursday’s debate, Leftist Twitter is back to quoting from the Bible.

Odd how that works, isn’t it?  It’s almost as if they coordinate talking points or something.

Now this certainly isn’t the first time Pete Buttigieg has played the part of insufferable scold to the Christians.  I mentioned back in early April that Buttigieg was taking the Hillary route of insulting a large population of the country when he accused Christians of being hypocrites for voting for Donald Trump.

And, hey, if you can accuse Christians of being hypocrites for voting for Trump, why not accuse them of being hypocrites for not supporting the radical Left’s push for open borders.

So now Leftists who despise the Bible and hate Christians are back to cherry-picking verses from the Bible in order to back up Buttigieg’s ridiculous attack.

These guys love quoting the Bible as some sort of theological “so there!”  Don’t they?

Granted they don’t believe a word of the Bible themselves.

But when it comes to guilting people into surrendering to their radical, far-Left agenda, Leftists won’t let their personal hatred of Christ or the Word of God stop them from using it as a cudgel.

It’s their go-to rhetorical weapon of choice to justify their hatred of capitalism, America and, well, Christians.

And they don’t care if they have to twist the Bible into knots to get it to mean what they think it does.

You know, like their claim that Joseph and Mary were illegal immigrants who snuck into Bethlehem and were living “in the shadows” in a stable – as if Joseph was there to get a job picking olives while Mary worked as a maid.

[That particular butchering of the nativity story irritates me so much, I write about it at length every Christmas — including HERE.]

So now, in an attempt to make Christians feel guilty for wanting to prevent non-citizens from flooding into our country and overwhelming our borders, these people who despise the Bible have once again stumbled on Matthew 25.

They just love Matthew 25.  Well, not “love” in the “revere it because it’s the Word of God” kind of way. No. They love it because they think it somehow provides an all-purpose Biblical imprimatur to every aspect of their radical agenda.

This time, in order to back up Mayor Buttigieg’s insufferable scolding on detention centers and “the children,” Matthew 25 is being copied from Brainy Quotes and burped out on Twitter by people who don’t give a crap about the Bible.

Even Socialist Barbie got into the act.

We will now take a short break so that I can roll my eyes.

Okay, I’m back.

Any old how.

I thought I should probably re-up a post I did back in early December 2017 when the Leftists deployed Matthew 25 in order to shame people who supported the Trump tax cuts.

Yup, Matthew 25 is that versatile.

So, here we go:

Yes, please lecture me on what Jesus would think about the tax bill – December 3, 2017

Suddenly all the people who love to mock and ridicule Christians are now theologians.

Funny how that happens.

With the passage of the Senate Tax Reform bill, these Jesus-mockers are lecturing Christians over what Jesus would think of the tax overhaul.

You see, Jesus said in Matthew 25:35:
”For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”

And apparently what Jesus was talking about wasn’t “you” in the “you personally” sense of the word.

Instead, Leftists believe Jesus meant “you” in the “you let the government do it for you by confiscating the wealth of others” sense of the word.

If you’re concerned about the hungry, the thirsty, the strangers, the unclothed, then you, personally, can help them.

That’s what Christian charity is all about – self-sacrifice for the least of these.

It isn’t something you outsource to the government.

Jesus didn’t say “For I was hungry and you demanded the wealthy pay more in taxes to feed me. I was thirsty and you demanded corporations pay more so that I had something to drink. I needed clothes so you badgered Congress to confiscate the wealth of the one percent to clothe me.”

These guys don’t really care about the poor and needy. Except of course when the poor and needy can be exploited for political gain.

Every single person whining about this tax bill could, if they so choose, write an additional check to the US Treasury and earmark it for whatever program they wanted.

You know, just like President Trump is doing with his paycheck every quarter.

And everyone wringing their hands over the plight of the poor could take a crow bar to their own wallet and donate to Food Banks, job training programs and other charitable organizations.

If they truly cared about Jesus saying “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me,” they’d put their own money where their loud mouths are.

But they won’t.

Will they?

That’s because they want to pawn off charity to others while still feeling sanctimonious about it.

And if they do crack open their wallets, they will donate instead to organizations with a vested interest in maintaining an underclass.

Or they’ll donate to Planned Parenthood in Mike Pence’s name.

Because as Jesus said, “Verily I say unto you, I was in my mother’s womb and you helped fund the company that suctioned me out and sold me for parts.”

What the left has done to 60 million of the least of these, i.e. unborn children, is the greatest evil mankind has perpetrated. Abortionists and their supporters farcically label this as “women’s health care”, some even claiming Jesus would support abortion. Judgement awaits.
