The Narrative Spinner

Narrative Spinner

At the rate that Barack Obama is spinning this terrorist attack in Orlando, I’m surprised his pockets aren’t stuffed with sick bags. The Narrative Spinner met with the press yesterday to give them an update on the investigation, but it wasn’t so much an update as it was Barack’s attempt to frame and spin the narrative to his liking.

I read through the transcript at the White House website, and a few statements leapt out at me:

“I just had the opportunity to get the latest briefing from FBI Director Comey, as well as Deputy Attorney General Yates and the rest of my national security team about the tragedy that took place in Orlando.”

“The tragedy that took place.”

Yes, let’s not call it a terrorist attack.

“Tragedy” is the perfect word to use for Barack because “tragedy” almost makes it sound like there is no rhyme or reason for what happened. I’m frankly surprised he didn’t couple it with the word “senseless” if you want to know the truth.

Don’t underestimate the importance if the use of the word “tragedy.”

“The fact that it took place at a club frequented by the LGBT community I think is also relevant. We’re still looking at all the motivations of the killer. But it’s a reminder that regardless of race, religion, faith or sexual orientation, we’re all Americans, and we need to be looking after each other and protecting each other at all times in the face of this kind of terrible act.”

Where to begin?

It’s relevant that the “tragedy” took place at a club frequented by “the LGBT community?” Even in the aftermath of a terrorist attack, Barack Obama has to play his trademark “lumping individuals into identity groups” game. Heaven forbid we think of these people as individuals. No. We have to lump them together into a preferred Identity Group.

“We’re still looking at all the motivations of the killer.” Because no Islam to see here, folks. Go about your business.

And if “we’re all Americans,” why is it relevant that it took place at a club frequented by “the LGBT community?” Why bring it up at all?

You know one way we could look after each other and protect each other at all times? Do I have to say it? Get rid of these gosh-darned “gun-free” zones. Imagine if someone inside that club actually was able to carry a concealed weapon. It is infinitely more difficult to look after or protect each other when we are all made sitting ducks.

“This kind of terrible act” is Obamaspeak for “tragedy” which is Leftistspeak for “terrorist attack.”

“It appears that the shooter was inspired by various extremist information that was disseminated over the Internet. All those materials are currently being searched, exploited so we will have a better sense of the pathway that the killer took in making the decision to launch this attack.”

So the Internet turned him into an “extremist?” Sure. I get it. Heaven knows my reading Obama’s speeches over the Internet make me feel extreme. This is Obama’s way of absolving face-to-face interactions this terrorist may have had with Imams, other Muslim leaders. Because they’re all as pure as the wind-driven snow. Had he not had an Internet connection, Omar Mateen would have been the poster boy for tolerance.

Radical Islamists have exploited the Internet to be sure. But somebody has to be posting this “extremist information that was disseminated over the Internet.” It didn’t just spring up from the primordial ooze of ones and zeros. Behind every Internet posting is a living, breathing human being, Barack. You do know how the Internet works, right?

“As Director Comey I think will indicate, at this stage we see no clear evidence that he was directed externally.”

Oh, for Pete’s sake. If you are going to claim that he was “inspired by various extremist information that was disseminated over the Internet,” Barack, isn’t the Internet an “external influence?” Aren’t the people who posted this “extremist information” an “external influence?!”

But wait! This one is the kicker:

“It does appear that, at the last minute, he announced allegiance to ISIL, but there is no evidence so far that he was in fact directed by ISIL.”

“At the last minute?!”

I’m sorry. How the hell does Barack Obama know that Omar Mateen didn’t decide to pledge allegiance to ISIS until “the last minute?!” So, all the while he and his wife were tootling around town planning this attack, he wasn’t in any way inspired by ISIS or Islam? Then, suddenly, as he was slaughtering American citizens, he “at the last minute” decided to announce allegiance to ISIS?

Dear God.

And there is “no evidence so far that he was in fact directed by ISIL.” Except for the fact that Barack Obama just proclaimed that he was inspired by “various extremist information that was disseminated over the Internet” which Obama loves to remind us, ISIL is taking full advantage of to disseminate their extremist information.

Just trying to follow that illogic is getting me so nauseous, I may need a sick bag.

It appears that one of those weapons he was able to just carry out of the store — an assault rifle, a handgun — a Glock — which had a lot of clips in it.

A Glock had a lot of clips in it?!

What? Is it some kind of magical handgun that A) uses “clips” and B) can contain a lot of “clips” in it at the same time?

Sweet merciful Zeus. When it comes to firearms, the Smartest Man to Ever Occupy the Oval Office becomes the Stupidest Man to Ever Open His Mouth.

Semi-automatic handguns and rifles contain “magazines,” not “clips.” And, they can only contain one “magazine” at a time.

Tell me, oh wise Barack. What is an “assault rifle?” Do you know?

Let me help you out [hat tip Guns and Ammo]:

[T]he U.S. Department of Defense defines assault rifles as “selective-fire weapons that fire a cartridge intermediate in power between sub-machine gun and rifle cartridges.” The AR-15 and other civilian carbines errantly called assault rifles do no such thing. They are semi-automatic, non-battlefield firearms.

This barbarian used a Sig Sauer MCX which, like the AR-15, is a semi-automatic rifle. So, in fact, Barack, this animal was not carrying an “assault rifle.”

And he most emphatically was not carrying a handgun that “had a lot of clips in it,” you dumbass.

What else did Barack have to say?

[O]ne of the biggest challenges we are going to have is this kind of propaganda and perversions of Islam that you see generated on the Internet…”

Yes. We must remember, actual living and breathing Muslims do not disseminate this “kind of propaganda and perversions of Islam.” Only the Internet — which apparently does it without the involvement of any living and breathing human being.

“We are also going to have to have to make sure that we think about the risks we are willing to take by being so lax in how we make very powerful firearms available to people in this country.”

But heaven forbid we actually think about the risks we are willing to take by being so lax in how we permit foreign nationals to enter the United States. That simply cannot happen.

“Very powerful firearms?” You mean like a Glock with a lot of clips in it?

Then, Obama took questions. The first one out of the gate returned to the “LGBT angle” (as the reporter called it). Take a look at this delusional response:

“Well, I think we don’t yet know the motivations. But here’s what we do know — is organizations like ISIL or organizations like al Qaeda, or those who have perverted Islam and created these radical, nihilistic, vicious organizations, one of the groups that they target are gays and lesbians because they believe that they do not abide by their attitudes towards sexuality.”

This is some master spinning from the Narrative Spinner.

No Islam here. Move along.

Islam has this violent and vicious attitude toward gays, you lying sack of crap. It isn’t just “those who have perverted Islam” that do. Yesterday, I mentioned Andrew McCarthy’s great piece at National Review. Get the straight poop on what Sharia says about homosexuality by reading it HERE.

But, it gets worse. Way worse:

“So, yes, I’m sure we will find that there are connections — regardless of the particular motivations of this killer — there are connections between this vicious, bankrupt ideology and general attitudes towards gays and lesbians. And unfortunately, that’s something that the LGBT community is subject to not just by ISIL but by a lot of groups that purport to speak on behalf of God around the world.”

This is beneath contempt.

The President of the United States, both in his desire to protect Islam from its own sick treatment of gays and in his desire to sully Christianity, is basically saying that some groups of Christians are just as bad for the “LGBT community” as the animal who committed this terrorist attack. This man’s moral relativism is obscene. Absolutely obscene.

Many of us conservatives have been saying for years now that if push comes to shove and the Left has to make a choice between Islam and gays, they will choose Islam. Barack Obama is doing precisely that. By contemptibly implying that other religious groups are just bad — presumably because they don’t approve of legalizing gay marriage and letting men in girls’ bathrooms — Barack Obama is dealing in a despicable moral relativism in order to downplay the actual deadly threat radical Islamists pose to gay people not just in this country, but around the world.

But who here is surprised? Barack Obama has been downplaying the threat of radical Islamists for years. Nothing to see here, folks. Move along.

Not baking a cake for a gay wedding is EXACTLY the same as killing 50 gays and wounding 53 others, hater!
