The Startling Arrogance of Ocasio-Cortez

A brief video of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders was making the rounds on social media yesterday.

People were drawn to this clip because it offers yet another example of the sheer stupidity of this young, ignorant socialist.

Flip this seat Red in November.

Well, that certainly will help with that Blue Wave.

Yes. She’s a dummy and a lightweight.

But that’s not the part of this video that I find so remarkable.

What really stuns me is her arrogance.

What the hell is this Congressional candidate from the Bronx doing in Kansas City?

Shouldn’t Ocasio-Cortez be campaigning for herself?

This might come as a surprise to Alexandria, but generally after winning a primary, a candidate spends her time campaigning for the seat she’s running for — not campaigning for someone six states away.

It’s one thing for Bernie Sanders to go campaign for a socialist in Kansas City. Bernie’s not running for reelection this year.

But Ocasio-Cortez has her own campaign to think about.

And yet there she is in Kansas City.

Now, some of you are probably thinking, “But Dianny, she’s a shoe-in for her seat. She doesn’t need to campaign. They’ll vote for her anyway.”

And that may very well be true.

But it’s one thing to know your victory is fairly certain.

It’s another thing entirely to decide, “Screw it! I’m too famous now to bother campaigning.”

That is flat-out arrogant.

Ocasio-Cortez assuming that she doesn’t need to waste her time working for the votes of the people she supposedly wants to serve shows a level of hubris not seen since Hillary Clinton ignored Wisconsin.

But it’s also extremely foolish.

Let’s be honest. Turnout for last month’s primary was very small in her district.

Most Democrats there didn’t bother voting because they just assumed Crowley would win.

It’s looking like voter turnout in November could be huge.

And don’t forget, Joe Crowley is still on the ballot thanks to the Working Families Party.

By ignoring her district, by arrogantly not campaigning, is it possible voters there will get so fed up with her they vote for Crowley just to spite her?

Now, admittedly, I don’t know a lot about the people in the Bronx.

But it would bug me if this little glory hound was supposedly running for the Congressional seat in my district but couldn’t be bothered to actually campaign for my vote.

In addition to Crowley being on the ballot, there is a Republican challenger.

If he was smart, he would be out in the street meeting people, shaking hands, getting his face out there.

And if he was really smart, he’d be pointing out daily that Ocasio-Cortez thinks so little about the voters in her district that she isn’t even campaigning for their votes.

Like I said a couple weeks ago, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a lot like David Hogg.

She got a taste of instant fame, and it’s gone to her head.

Her race for Congress isn’t about public service.

And it isn’t about the people in the Bronx.

Now it’s all about Alexandria.

And when you get too big for your britches, sometimes you set yourself up for a humiliating defeat.

Just ask Hillary.

As the old saying goes, “pride goeth before the fall.”

What happens if, on November 5, voters decided to teach her a little humility.

Call me callous, but I would laugh myself silly.

Especially when you consider that there will be a phalanx of news cameras at her victory party — following her around like breathless groupies.

Could you imagine if Joe Crowley defeated her?

Just the stunned look of disbelief on her face would be more Schadenfreude than even I could handle.

Well, it looks like Bernie Sanders realized that his video of dummy Ocasio-Cortez was damaging. He’s deleted the tweet.

There is a similarity between Ocasio-Cortez and another prominent democrat that should not be missed. Obama started out as a state legislator. Obama was and still is a light weight as far as his personal knowledge of the facts. He heavily relied on teleprompters because he really could not speak extemporaneously. Ocasio-Cortez has that same ‘likeable’ characteristic that Obama brought to the table in 1998.

I am not suggesting that Ocasio-Cortez is at all smart or intuitive. She is a tool of the left. So was Obama. Obama became our first black president. Well, half black. Ocasio-Cortez could be the first Hispanic and woman president at the same time. This would be in 7 years or so. Depending on her birth date she could be the democratic candidate in 2024 as she would be 35 in 2025 for the inauguration.

I would not dismiss her candidacy all that quickly. If she gets the right handlers and is properly presented she could be a formidable foe in future. She is more than capable of repeating things and I am sure can be trained to repeat the ‘right’ things to gain higher office.

I hate to say it, but there was never any credible Republican opposition running in this district. Anthony Pappas, the GOP nominee by default, is essentially a single-issue candidate running against the court system, for God’s sake. He’s a 72-year old teacher at a local university that I hadn’t heard of myself, and I would submit that he has very little idea on economics, geopolitical / international diplomacy, the environment scam, and other items. Ocasio-Cortez is not going to waste her time debating him (and she should keep herself away from ALL non-fawning press, which she can easily do by letting the mainstream (fawning) press cover for her from now until November. I would submit, however, that a REAL republican should think about 2020. Right now.

correct me , if i’m wrong, but didn’t Crowley lose to her by doing the exact same thing? Not showing up to campaign

I think she should take her wall-to-wall teeth to Venezuela….and stay there.
