This is why I love British papers

I do a lot of web surfing as part of my daily routine for Patriot Retort — scouring the Interwebs for interesting articles and news.

Though I rarely go to CNN, the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post or other typical Enslaved Press American sites, I do make a habit of checking in with the UK Daily Mail, the UK Telegraph and, my favorite, the UK Daily Express.

Today, I was over at the Sunday Express and saw this headline:
Workouts beside burly men make me feel small, admits Obama (has he seen Putin’s routine?)

Hahahahaha!

This is why I love British papers.

Though the Daily Mail and Telegraph have a decidedly Leftwing slant (after all Piers Morgan writes a column for the Daily Mail), the Express is sort of the British equivalent of my favorite American paper, the NY Post.

The US president may be commander in chief of one of the world’s mightiest militaries – but the sight of a man curling a 50kg weight is enough to make him question his size.

Speaking to troops at the Marine Corps Base in Hawaii, he said: “The only problem I’ve got when I’m here is having to work out with Marines in the gym.”

“Because I generally feel like your commander in chief is in pretty good shape, and then I get next to some guy, you know, curling 100 pounds and it makes me feel small.”

Obama’s admission is in stark contrast to the notoriously hardcore workout routines of Vladimir Putin.

Imagine CNN writing something like that.

The funniest part of the article was the poll.

Yes, they had a poll which I dutifully voted in.

This is why I love British papers

You know it’s bad when stereotypically fussy Brits are questioning your manhood.

The only thing missing from this post was a picture of Obama straining like a constipated octogenarian while lifting wee little ten pound free weights.

But that’s why you have me…

Dear Lord.

Clearly the bloom is off the rose as far as the European press is concerned.

Remember when everyone said that Barack Obama would restore America’s standing in the world?

Yeah. Not so much.

Europe’s love affair with Barack has definitely hit the skids.

Welcome to the club, my British cousins. Welcome to the club.
