This NYT Anonymous Op-Ed is going to backfire

You can always tell when a Leftist tactic backfires.

The media suddenly drops the narrative and quickly shifts to something else.

And clearly the media realized that fawning over the Left’s anti-Kavanaugh hysterics were backfiring.

Because on Day Two of Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing, the media dropped the anti-Kavanaugh shiny toy to prattle on endlessly about an anonymous “senior Trump Administration official’s” silly op-ed in the New York Times.

“Okay, folks! These hysterical anti-Kavanaugh cranks are making the Democrats look really bad! So pay no attention to the crazy flying monkeys! Look over here instead! Look at this anonymous op-ed!!”

David Brock’s smear merchants are upset that Fox News refuses to play this transparent game.

How many stories have there been over the last few months that the media immediately shifts gears and flees when they backfire?

Well, I can think of a few.

First, there was Abolish ICE – a movement CNN gladly hawked until polling showed voters were horrified at the notion. Then, suddenly, CNN was all “Never mind.”

Then there was the slobbering coverage of that dummy Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. The news media couldn’t get enough of this know-nothing socialist. Until they discovered that the know-nothing socialist was making a fool of not only herself, but the Democrats in general. And once again, they backtracked.

Just this week the news media realized that celebrating the anti-Trump rhetoric at McCain’s funeral was making voters supremely angry.

So what did they do?

They walked it back and claimed that there was no anti-Trump rhetoric. And if you heard it you were mistaken.

So is it at all a surprise that the collective orgasming over the anti-Kavanaugh lunatics would also pull up short?

Nope.

The news media is so completely blinded by their hatred of President Trump that they never look before they leap.

But here’s the problem.

Chances are deciding to go balls-to-the-wall over this anonymous op-ed from a “senior Trump Administration official” is also going to backfire too.

In fact, I think the backfire started as soon as they leaped onto the story.

For over a year and a half, the news media has scoffed and harrumphed at the idea of a Deep State working to undermine the duly-elected President.

It’s “conspiracy theory” they sneered with mocking disdain.

Obama biographer David Remnick even penned a column for The New Yorker in March of 2017 with the scoffing title There is no Deep State.

This May, Jake Tapper of CNN referred to Trump’s “full-blown unsubstantiated conspiracy theory” of a “deep state.”

Shortly before that, Tapper invited Congressman Matt Gaetz on to sneeringly mock him for referring to a “Deep State.”

Then there’s this insufferably snarky remark from CNN’s resident idiot Chris Cillizza from a February opinion piece titled Donald Trump’s Russia delusion bubbles over:

Those are all facts. And there is nothing even approaching those sort of facts for any of the conspiracies Trump is weaving about Clinton. (Of course not, you say! The “deep state” is protecting her and is out to get Trump! It’s at this point that I would advise you to stop reading this and maybe just go out and get some fresh air.)

But wait! There’s more!

This “conspiracy” of a Deep State is promoted by Russian Bots!! So say the crack CNN reporters Samantha Vinograd and Julian Zelizer.

In December of 2017, Brian Stelter penned an entire mocking column about Fox News feeding Trump’s delusion about a “Deep State” that’s out to get him.

Yes, my friends. The news media went out of their way to belittle and demean anyone who even refers to a deep state coup.

Then the New York Times permits this anonymous “senior Trump Administration official” to basically confirm that the Deep State soft coup to undermine the President is not wild conspiracy at all, but actually happening.

And the same news outfits that spent the last year and half mocking the notion, are slobbering like Pavlov’s dogs over this anonymous op-ed.

How can you not laugh yourself silly at these morons?

And if you don’t think this is going to backfire on them in a big way, you probably also believe Cher is sane.
