Buckle up, folks. Hillary’s about to lie.
Scott Pelley: You know, in ’76, Jimmy Carter famously said, “I will not lie to you.”
Hillary: Mmm-hmm. Well, I have to tell you. I have tried in every way I know how literally from my years as a young lawyer all the way through my time as Secretary of State to level with the American People.
Scott Pelley: You talk about leveling with the American people. Have you always told the truth?
Hillary: I’ve always tried to. Always. Always.
Scott Pelley: Some people are gonna call wiggle room that you just gave yourself …
Hillary: No. I al–
Scott Pelley: “Always, always tried to.” I …
Hillary: No, I’ve always tried–
Scott Pelley: I mean, you know, Jimmy Carter said, “I will never lie to you.”
Hillary: You know, you’re asking me to say – have I ever – I don’t believe I ever have. I … I don’t believe I ever have. I don’t believe I ever will. I’m gonna do the best I can to level with the American people.
In March, Hillary tried her best to level with the American people by telling us that she did not send or receive classified emails on her private server.
How many have they found? Well over a thousand by now. Including emails that exposed US intelligence assets.
In July, she claimed that she never received a subpoena to appear before the Benghazi Select Committee. Never.
Then Trey Gowdy released the March 13, 2015 subpoena they sent to Hillary.
Sounds more like “Never, never.”
But, she’s doing her best she can to level with the American People.
Well, honey. Hate to break it to you, but your “best” just isn’t close to being good enough.
Makes me think of that great song by the Eurythmics, “Would I lie to you?”
