Would they replace her?

Within hours of Hillary Clinton’s very public collapse, rumors began swirling that the Democrats want to replace her on the ticket.

Former MSNBC reporter David Shuster tweeted that a Democrat operative told him the DNC may meet to consider their options in light of this latest health crisis.

The story spread like wildfire. Eventually, it was picked up by Breitbart.

Would the DNC want to replace Hillary?

After rigging the entire primary process to get her nominated, it seems highly unlikely to me.

Then again, if Hillary’s health issues are far more serious than we even imagined, I suppose it’s possible.

But as Shuster himself points out, DNC bylaws leave the decision entirely in Hillary’s hands. The party cannot replace her unless and until she voluntarily drops out.

Let’s be honest here. What are the chances Hillary Clinton would give up her vainglorious quest to become President of the United States?

Though most people only use the phrase “even it if it kills me,” figuratively, Hillary Clinton literally means it.

She has wanted to be President her entire life. And once Bill got into office, I’m all but certain Hillary had her path to the White House completely mapped out.

That she would – of her own accord – step off that path permanently is something I simply cannot see happening.

Becoming President is not an aspiration for Hillary Rodham Clinton; it is an obsession.

That doesn’t mean there aren’t some Democrats who would love it if Hillary would drop out “for health reasons.”

Over the last week, there have been several reports that Senate Democrats and others within the party have been voicing concern over Hillary’s inability to pull away in this race.

I’m sure there are some who would see this latest health episode as the perfect excuse for her to bow out gracefully rather than suffer a humiliating defeat to Donald Trump in November.

Some within the DNC are completely invested in a Hillary candidacy out of their single-minded desire to have a woman. I’m sure they wouldn’t care if she had to be sworn in while lying on her death bed.

But there have to be others within the Democrat Party who fear that this latest news about her health will only further hinder her campaign – a campaign that is struggling to maintain a lead against a candidate these Democrats think is easily beatable.

For the Democrats who put their party above Hillary’s obsessive ambition, jettisoning Granny Clinton may be seen as the only hope they have for maintaining their stranglehold on the White House.

But, again. The party can’t replace her unless she agrees to drop out.

Hillary has already proven that she will put her blind, frothing ambition ahead of her own health.

I just don’t see that changing anytime soon.

Hillary is like the Black Knight from “Monty Python and the Holy Grail.”

She will not stop running even if you cut off her arms and legs.

Nothing, and I mean nothing, will stand in the way of her being on the ballot come November.

Even if it kills her.
